In the commentary on the Ornament of the Sutras, Tsha said: "These words were spoken in order to benefit some common disciples, but in reality, the Bhagavan Maitreya himself has already attained complete enlightenment as the Dharmakaya." This aspiration prayer does not seem to have any Indian commentaries. These explanations are based on the two earlier Tibetan commentaries. However, these commentaries do not seem to have complete and thorough explanations of the words, and the explanations vary depending on one's own understanding. Therefore, I will explain it here based mainly on my own ability. Now, at the end of the aspiration prayer, there is a tradition of reciting the dharani and three verses of the aspiration prayer that Maitreya vowed. There are three parts to explaining the meaning of these: explaining the benefits of translating and reciting the dharani in Tibetan, and explaining the meaning of the aspiration prayer. The first is: In Sanskrit: Ārya Maitri Pratījñāna Nāma Dhāraṇi. In Tibetan: The Dharani of the Noble Maitreya's Vow. From Namo Ratna Trayāya to Om Muni Muni Smara Svāhā, the essence of nearness. Namo Ratna Trayāya: I prostrate to the Three Jewels. Then, Namo means I prostrate. Bhagavaté means the Bhagavan. Śākya Munaye means to Śākya Thubpa. Tathāgatāya means the Thus Gone One. Ahate means the Arhat. Samyak Sam means perfectly complete. Buddhāya means to the Buddha. If translated by combining them, it means: I prostrate to the Bhagavan, the Thus Gone One, the Arhat, the perfectly complete Buddha Śākya Thubpa. Tadyathā means this is how it is. Om is the beginning. Ajite Ajite means invincible, invincible. Aparājite means unconquerable or invincible. Para means other. Jite means conquerable. A is a negative word, meaning not. Also, Ajita means invincible. A is a negative word, and Jita, depending on the context, means victorious, conquerable, or defeated. Here, it is applied to the latter two, and A is placed before them, so it is translated as unconquerable, invincible. Jaya means victorious. Hara Hara means seize, seize. Maitri means Maitreya. Avalokite means all-seeing or Avalokiteśvara. Kara Kara means do, do or act, act. Mahā Sama means great samaya. Siddhi means accomplishment. Bhara Bhara

Increase, increase! Mahabodhi is the Great Bodhi. Mandala is the essence or center. Bije is the seed. Smara Smara is remembrance, remembrance. Asmakam is us. Samaya is oath or equality. Bodhi Bodhi is Bodhi Bodhi. Mahabodhi is the Great Bodhi. Svaha means foundation is stable or well bestowed. The above is the root mantra. After that, Om Mohi Mohi Maha Mohi Svaha. This is the heart mantra. Om Muni Muni Smara Svaha is the near heart mantra. This is as it appears in the tantras. In some places, other different mantras appear after these, but they are not in the tantras, so it is obvious that they were added by others. There is no lack if not recited, and there is no conflict if recited. The second is the benefit: If the meaning of hearing this dharani etc. is summarized, the Maitreya Protector remembers, therefore reciting this dharani etc., when Maitreya becomes a Buddha in the future, no matter where that person is, he will definitely find him and prophesy Buddhahood. If proclaimed to the ears of animals such as birds and beasts, they will also obtain prophecy. If one has faith and recites, one will not fall into the lower realms. One will not be born from the womb, but will be born as a god by transformation. Even if born from the womb, one will be born into the lineage of a king, possessing ten virtues, and will become wealthy. In short, Maitreya himself will not forget that sentient being, will follow and take care of him, and vows to prophesy at the time of Buddhahood. The second is: With this virtue etc. three verses. The first is a prayer, with the virtue of reciting this dharani, may I and all other beings, immediately after dying from here, without interruption, be born in Tushita Heaven, the abode of Maitreya, that tall Dharma palace, and become the chief prince of Maitreya Dharma King. The second is: The regent Maitreya, the lord of the ten bhumis, when he manifests the appearance of newly attaining the ten powers and perfect Buddhahood in Jambudvipa in the future, may he first taste the nectar of speech, the sacred Dharma, and after practicing its meaning, attain the fruit and accomplish all the deeds of the Buddhas completely. The third is: After dying from this life
