Because it is contemplated that wandering in samsara, to abandon the clinging to reality, one must realize selflessness, and after realizing it, through the power of meditation, one can be liberated from samsara and also attain the state of liberation and omniscience. As it is said in the Condensed Sutra: "Those who are endowed with minds attached to samsara constantly wander. The self and what belongs to the self are truly empty. A child ties knots in the sky by himself. For example, the thought of suspicion can cause poison to arise. Even though the poison has not entered the stomach, it can cause fainting. Likewise, a child who accepts self and what belongs to self, in that self, a non-true thought arises and is feared. How one clings, so it is taught that all kinds of afflictions arise. Not focusing on self and what belongs to self is said to be purified." And it is also said: "All sentient beings, inferior, middling, and superior, arise from ignorance, as the Sugata has said. When causes gather, the wheel of suffering intensely arises. That wheel of ignorance is without end and without increase. All the doors of wisdom, means, and roots arise from the supreme Prajnaparamita. When causes gather, the wheel of wisdom intensely arises. Prajnaparamita is without end and without increase." Therefore. In short, the wisdom that realizes selflessness is the most important of all the causes for attaining liberation, because without it, it is impossible to be liberated from samsara and attain liberation. As it is said in the Samadhiraja Sutra: "If one individually understands the Dharma of selflessness, and individually examines and meditates on it, it is the cause of liberation, nirvana, and the supreme fruit. What other cause is there that cannot pacify?" Like this, there are many other sources, which are very important. Considering this importance, the conclusion is made by showing the benefits: Subhuti! A Bodhisattva Mahasattva, who fills countless worlds with gold, silver, pearls, and other seven precious things, and gives them as charity, is still less than a son or daughter of good family who completely upholds, recites, and even writes down and upholds a single four-line verse of this Prajnaparamita Sutra, reads it, or holds the complete volume in their hand.

So, can one fully understand and know all the words and meanings in it? If one can understand the words and meanings oneself, and also widely and correctly and thoroughly explain them to other sentient beings, then from the basis of doing so, that very person will generate countless, immeasurable merits, which are of great benefit to the meaning. "Merit" refers to the collection of both merit and wisdom. Of the three, generosity, ethics, and patience, the main one is the accumulation of the collection of merit. With meditation and wisdom, the main one is the accumulation of the collection of wisdom. From diligence, both of these arise. Therefore, listening to and contemplating the Perfection of Wisdom is mainly the accumulation of the collection of wisdom. So, how is it that in this text, when explaining the benefits, the phrase "heap of merit" appears so often? That is not referring to just the collection of merit, which is divided by the two collections, but rather, the benefits are referred to by the name of merit. How should this text be taught? How should it be correctly and thoroughly explained? That is, speaking, explaining, and understanding are all placed as mere conventions. In the ultimate sense, since there is no object to be expressed or expression, how can the meaning be correctly, or ultimately, or thoroughly explained? But just as it is explained in conventional terms, here too, in mere conventional terms, the words and meanings are correctly and thoroughly explained without being reversed. For that reason, it is called "correctly and thoroughly explained." To understand this well, one must understand that the sounds of expression enter their own objects by virtue of convention and terminology, and not by virtue of the object itself. Although a brief example was given above, here too, the reason why it does not enter by virtue of the object is that one thing can be expressed by various names. For example, a single horse is called by various names in the languages of India, China, Tibet, Mongolia, and so on. As it says in the Perfection of Wisdom Requested by Maitreya, all phenomena such as form are also given names temporarily, so the application of names is by virtue of convention, not by virtue of the object itself. Therefore, understanding the meaning based on the name is also by virtue of needing to combine conventions. If conventions are not combined, the meaning cannot be understood. For example, a child

Just as a young child who does not understand language, even if you say this and that name to them, they will only hear the sound, just as they do not understand this and that meaning. Similarly, others understand that meaning because of language. Without language, like a young child, they will only hear the sound and will not understand the meaning. Phenomena cannot be analyzed by the reasoning that investigates ultimate meaning. In the state of meditative equipoise of the noble ones, all the elaborations of dualistic appearances are pacified, so in that state, it is impossible to express things in a way that involves elaborations, which is even deeper than what was said before. As it is said in the scriptures: 'Inexpressible by speech, thought, or expression, is the Perfection of Wisdom.' Then, to show that conditioned phenomena are without inherent existence and impermanent, it concludes: 'Like stars, illusions, lamps, and phantoms.' Taking the five aggregates, such as form, as examples, just as the stars appear at night and do not appear during the day, similarly, conditioned phenomena such as the aggregates appear to be real in the darkness of ignorance, but when the sun of wisdom that realizes non-reality rises, they will not appear to be real, so they should be viewed like stars. Just as when dust and other things blur the eyes, things do not appear as they are, but are seen as other things, when the haze of ignorance obscures the eye of wisdom, conditioned phenomena also appear as other things. A lamp relies on a wick and quickly arises and ceases, similarly, conditioned phenomena rely on their respective causes and conditions and quickly arise and cease. An illusion appears as something else, similarly, conditioned phenomena appear to be real when the mind is confused. Dewdrops quickly disappear, similarly, conditioned phenomena do not remain for a second moment, but quickly disappear. Bubbles suddenly arise and disappear from the disturbance of water, similarly, conditioned phenomena suddenly arise and disappear when conditions come together. Dreams are illusory appearances when deluded by sleep, similarly, conditioned phenomena appear to be real when deluded by ignorance. Lightning quickly arises and disappears, similarly, conditioned phenomena quickly arise and cease when conditions come together. Clouds arise and disappear in the sky according to the thoughts of dragons and others, similarly, conditioned phenomena are common
