I prostrate to the Unconquerable Crown Queen of the Departed Others, the meaning of which will be explained. Secondly, the meaning of the text has three aspects: the perfection of the place, the perfection of the Dharma, and the harmony of subsequent rejoicing. The first has four aspects: time, teacher, place, and retinue. The first is: This text, which will be explained, was heard by me, the compiler Vajrapani. It was not heard repeatedly, but at one time of hearing, that is, it was heard only once. At one time, this was heard, and at other times, other things were heard. Moreover, hearing only once at one time shows that it can be remembered in the mind, so it is understood to be rare and of great wisdom. If it is combined with hearing other texts at other times, it is understood that much has been heard. Secondly, the teacher is the Bhagavan Shakyamuni. He is called "Victorious" because he has subdued or abandoned the two obscurations and the four maras. He is called "Possessed" because he possesses the realization of abandoning them in his own mind. Also, he is called "Possessed" because he possesses the six perfections, as it is said: "Power and beauty, glory and fame and wisdom, diligence are extremely perfect, these six are called possessions." As it appears. The Sanskrit word for Bhagavan is Bhagavan, which means both "Possessed of Fortune" and "Victorious." Although the past tense is not explicitly present, it is obtained here by meaning, so it is supplemented by the translator. Thirdly, the place is the abode of the gods of the Thirty-Three Heavens, which is on the summit of Mount Sumeru, as it is said: "On the summit of Mount Sumeru are the Thirty-Three." As it is said. The Thirty-Three refers to the place where Indra and his retinue of thirty-two close attendants reside. The thirty-two close attendants are: the eight wealth gods, the eleven powerful ones, the twelve suns, and the two sons of the lunar mansions. The identification of these is as it appears in the commentary on the Treasury of Words. In the center of the summit of Mount Sumeru is the city of Good View, each side of which is 2,500 yojanas. In the center of Good View is Indra's palace called "Completely Victorious." Outside of it, in the southwest corner, is the Dharma Hall of the Gods, each side of which is 300 yojanas. Inside,

There are also golden thrones of hundreds of millions (of units, "俱胝" in Chinese transliteration) of Indra, and the thrones of the thirty-two close attendants. In such a beautiful heavenly abode, a gathering place for the gods, these were spoken when the Buddha was dwelling there. The reason for going to the Thirty-Three Heavens is: In order to have his mother, Queen Maya, who had passed away and been reborn as a god, see the truth, the Buddha went there to dwell and, by teaching the Dharma, enabled his mother's rebirth and many other gods to see the truth. Fourth is the retinue: The so-called "great community of monks," although there are many types of monks, such as those who "come here" and those who have received full ordination through four karmas, here it should be understood as related to the many communities of monks with miraculous powers. Because it is said that when the Blessed One went to the heavenly realm, monks who had attained miraculous powers also went together as a retinue. The term "sangha" is also used for the fourfold assembly of monks, and the term "sangha" is also used for individual noble beings, there are two usages. The meaning of the word "sangha" is: a group with the intention of doing good and seeking liberation. The so-called "great" refers to the vast qualities of abandonment and realization, and is in reference to noble beings. The so-called "great community of Bodhisattvas," one aspect of the meaning of the word Bodhisattva is as mentioned above, and the meanings of sangha and great are as mentioned before. The meaning of the term "Lord of the Gods, Indra" is: It is said that in the past he made hundreds of thousands of great offerings, and therefore attained the rank of Indra. Being in the same place with them means being together. These are summaries of the meanings seen by the compilers. Second, the perfection of the Dharma is divided into two: the teacher entering into samadhi in order to utter the words of the secret mantra, and the manner in which the secret mantra is spoken. First: At that time, the Blessed One was seated on the lion throne that had been prepared. After being seated, thinking that he would utter the words of the secret mantra from his crown, he entered into the samadhi called "Complete Vision of the Crown." Second, the manner of how it was spoken is divided into two: the connection of where it was spoken from, and then how it was spoken.
