There are five benefits. What are the five? Residing in a vast mansion, being renowned for a beautiful physique, increasing happiness, longevity, possessing fame, and increasing comfort. And, being wealthy, having abundant riches, and vast enjoyment. Starting from "abundance of wealth and grains, as well as treasures and gold, and gatherings of storehouses and granaries," and also horses and elephants and cows, etc. Kinship with relatives and in-laws becomes numerous. And, having a beautiful appearance, being pleasing to behold, beautiful, etc. And, the chariot of a Chakravartin king, possessing the seven precious jewels, surrounded by a thousand sons. And, that person, upon death, will be reborn in the happy realm of the higher heavens of the desire realm. Having been born there, becoming a special king of the gods, becoming a refuge for gods and goddesses. Starting from "Monks, this is the fifth benefit of the giver who makes an image of the Tathagata." In the *Earth Store Ten Wheels Sutra*, it says: "Good son, furthermore, for example, those who have attained the Paramitas, possess the eight liberations, and abide in the samadhi of meditation, the Arhats." From "the accumulation of merit from building a stupa for the relics of the Buddha is very great" to "the benefit of offering to the three thousand great thousand worlds filled with Shravaka Arhats is less than the benefit of building a great stupa with the relics of the Buddha as its core and making offerings." In the *Arya Adbhuta Sutra*, it says: "Jambudvipa has seven thousand yojanas." Having made it as large as an Amla fruit, erected a life-supporting pole the size of a needle tip, offered an umbrella the size of a rhododendron leaf, made a body the size of a barley grain, and inserted relics the size of a mustard seed, that would be even greater merit. And, from the Sutra on the Differentiation of Actions, it says that there are eighteen benefits of building a stupa of the Tathagata. What are the eighteen? Being born into the house of a great king, having a good form, becoming beautiful and pleasing to the eye, having sharp senses, the body becoming like a collection of vajras, becoming a great retinue, and so on. The body becomes adorned with marks and signs, being born in the heavens, and quickly being liberated from suffering. These eighteen are the benefits of building the body of the Tathagata. And, from the Sutra Requested by Clear King, it says, by building the stupa of the Lord of Sages, all sufferings are eliminated, the body is fully increased, becoming the most important treasure store, and on earth, one will increase beyond the armies of enemies. And, from the Great Nirvana Sutra, it says, always generate a joyful mind, whether it is a Buddha image or a stupa, whatever is made as small as a thumb, one will not regress and will be born there.
