As mentioned before. The second part has two points: first, truly recognizing the precious, and second, the meaning of the word precious. The first point is: The wisdom that can distinguish subtle reasonings, the practice that penetrates the scriptures and key instructions, and the eloquence of speech skilled in combining words, these three jewels appear in this world. That is the first point. The second point is: This is extremely rare and fulfills desires, it increases wonderful joy, therefore it is known as precious among the wise. Through the above discussion, the explanation of the term precious for these three is revealed. There is no other precious jewel that captivates the wise. These three are the adornments of the wise, and apart from these, there is nothing else that can captivate the wise and serve as a special beautiful adornment. So, are there no precious ornaments? Although there are, those are not special ornaments of the wise. The third part is how to enter, which is divided into three points: which path of reasoning should one enter, how to grow in the scriptures and key instructions, and also the need to be skilled in the combination of words. The first part is divided into five points: first, identify the texts to be entered, and then one must enter these texts; if one does not enter these texts, one cannot understand the subtle profound meanings; even if one understands a little, it only remains at the level of speculation; even if one enters the philosophical texts, one will increase wrong views due to not studying well; therefore, one must study well. The first point is: If one does not repeatedly wash the dirt from the eye of wisdom with the nectar of reasoning from the supreme father and sons, the kings of speakers, and from Chenna, Dharmakirti, and Namakirti, who cut off wrong views, one cannot obtain correct views. Although this statement directly points out from the perspective of refutation, it also implies that from the perspective of establishment, one must enter these texts. The texts of the supreme father and sons are: the Six Treatises on Reasoning of the Middle Way composed by the Lord, and the commentaries on these treatises, such as those composed by Aryadeva, Buddhapalita, Chandrakirti, etc. In particular, the widely known Entering the Middle Way with its commentary, composed by Chandrakirti, should be studied in detail, not just its general content. The texts of Chenna and Dharmakirti are the Seven Treatises on Valid Cognition with their sutras, and the commentaries on these, such as those composed by the Regent Khedrup, etc. One should also study well the scattered or generally needed content of valid cognition reasoning in the debating courtyard.

Yes. The second is: If you don't wash it repeatedly, needless to say, you will see the extremely deep place. If you also analyze the rough meaning of the scriptures, most of the time, wrong thoughts will increase. This shows that if you don't study those scriptures, you will not only not understand the extremely profound meaning, but also will not be able to understand the rough meaning of the scriptures well. The third is: If you only get the right oath, because you don't use the power of the measurer to cut off the doubt, it will be like a stake in the mud, and you can't leave a stable right habit. That is to say, if you only know some rough meaning of the scriptures, it is only a correct oath summarized by the mind. Because there is no definite understanding guided by the measurer who can establish and refute, that is, prevent, the doubt cannot be cut off. Because the doubt is not cut off, when others make criticisms, one's own correct oath will also shake like a stake in the mud and will not be stable, so it is impossible to leave a stable habit guided by the measurer. The fourth is: Some people, even if they are proficient in two kinds of treatises, are like wanting to go east but going west, or like moonlight melting snow. Relying on the wrong thoughts of the treatises themselves, the power of repeatedly tarnishing the eyes of wisdom destroys all the good things in this life and the next, and for a long time deviates from the correct view, producing extremely stable factors, etc., which is very common. That is to say, not only is it not studying, but also in this place, even if you have a little study of the two kinds of logical treatises mentioned above, you will have wrong views that do not believe in karma and its effects, and wrong thoughts accompanied by wrong views, because you have not studied well. Because the power of wrong thoughts repeatedly taints the eyes of wisdom, wrong views will destroy all the good deeds accumulated in this life and the next, and for many lives, they will deviate from the good and correct view of respecting karma and its effects, that is, produce the factor of abandoning, which is very common. This is to say that such things happened when Master Tsongkhapa was alive. Use this metaphor to illustrate: For example, some people want to go east, but instead go west, which is completely reversed.
