Because it is a form. Sixth, not being faith, the five sense consciousnesses born from the sense organs with form are not to be abandoned by seeing, because they do not perversely impute to the true object. It is pervasive, because here, what is to be abandoned by seeing is a kind of affliction that perversely imputes to the various aspects of the four truths. Sixth, divided from the perspective of seeing and not seeing, from the perspective of becoming an object, from the perspective of permanence and impermanence, and from the perspective of being a sense organ or not, there are four types. First, the general display, establishing the eye as seeing, and the three characteristics of the sense organ. The first is: The aspect of the eye and the dharma realm is seeing, that is, eight kinds. The five consciousnesses and the co-emergent wisdom are not seeing because there is no definite understanding. Thus it is said. Knowable things have the difference between seeing and not seeing, because one aspect of the eye and the dharma realm, the five views and worldly right view, and the two of learners and non-learners, these eight are seeing, and the remaining seventeen and a half are not seeing. The wisdom that arises in conjunction with the five consciousnesses of the five doors, the dharma with afflictions, is not right view, because it does not have the nature of definite understanding that grasps the meaning of names and things. It should be so, because it is a sense consciousness. The second is: The eye sees all forms with a basis, it is not the consciousness that depends on it, why is there an interval, because the form is not seen. The eye also sees clearly by both. Thus it is said. The eye dharma is seeing, because it is the seer of all forms. The eye sees form, which is with the dependent sense organ and depends on it, not only seen by the consciousness that depends on it, what is the reason? If it is seen only by relying on it, then the forms with intervals should also be seen, but that is not what is seen. Saying "that" is necessary, because it is to prevent seeing form only by the eye sense organ. Form dharma, there is also a difference even if seen by one eye, because the eye can also see clearly by both. Third, the way the sense organ grasps the object, the way the sense organ becomes the basis, where

Belonging and three. The first is: eye, mind, and ear are, not meeting with the object, three different, nose, etc., three are, the object is thought to be held equally. It is said like this. The three, eye, mind, and ear, are phenomena, holding without meeting their own object, because the eye sees distant forms, the ear hears distant sounds, and the mind takes all three times as objects, so there is no need to meet. The three, nose, etc., are phenomena, holding after meeting other than not meeting, because you three want to hold the object equal to yourselves. Therefore, the tongue holds the particles of taste that meet with itself, and does not hold what does not meet. Similarly, the nose and body also hold the object that meets, because they do not hold what does not meet. The second is: the last support, the five that have passed away, those also arise together, because those change, therefore the nature of change, the support is the eye, etc., therefore, because it is not common, those show the consciousness. It is said like this. The consciousness that is not the last realm is a phenomenon, your support does not exist in the three times, because it arises relying only on the self-cause of the mind that has passed away in its own time. The five sense consciousnesses are phenomena, you have two self-causes, because in your own time there are two, past and present. Therefore, because those senses also arise together with themselves. The five senses, eye, etc., are phenomena, they are the support of their own consciousness, because those senses become clear or unclear, and the consciousnesses also become clear or unclear. The names of the five supporting senses also show the respective consciousnesses that are supported, because the five senses, eye, etc., are the uncommon self-causes of their respective consciousnesses. Therefore, the term "eye, ear, nose, tongue, body consciousness" is used to express the respective uncommon self-causes through the senses, not through the common self-causes of form, sound, smell, taste, and touch. The third is: the body is not the lower eye, the eye is not the upper form, consciousness is also its form, the body's is also both all, the ear is also like that, three are, all self
