Although all precepts must be protected, especially the four root precepts must be protected, and thirteen requisites are needed, especially the three robes must be complete. The three robes are: Sanghati, Uttarasanga, and Antarvasa. Among them, the size of the Sanghati is: three cubits in height and five cubits in width for the large size; the small size is two cubits in height and four cubits in width, and the medium size is in between. Similarly, the Uttarasanga is also the same. The size of the Antarvasa is: two cubits in height and five or four cubits in width. The torn part is not included in the size. There are two types of cubits: body cubit and hand cubit. Here, it refers to dividing one's own body from the crown of the head to the sole of the foot into seven parts, and taking two of those parts as one cubit. The method of blessing is: in that place, if there is an elder who is learned, then prostrate to him, otherwise it is not necessary. Fold any one of the three robes four times, place one end on your left shoulder, place the other end on both hands (both left hands), press down with the right hand, and then stand up straight, bowing and saying: Venerable ones, please listen. I, named so-and-so, in order to make the robe that I have made suitable for use, please bless this robe as Sanghati, etc. Repeat this three times. After that, you must find a good way. Before, some people would ask for attention, and afterwards would thank for the kindness, but most places do not have it, so it is not necessary, but it is good to do so. The remaining requisites should be learned from other places. Now some people, let alone the Sanghati, even the Antarvasa is often missing. Although there are some special circumstances for the three robes, those who have no Antarvasa at all, or even if they have it, only wear a lower garment, will in the future become a factor in making monks not need any of the three robes and joining the ranks of the Sangha, even if it does not help the Buddha's teachings, those who do not want to cause harm, if conditions permit, please be sure to hold the three robes, and even if not, please be sure to hold the Uttarasanga and Antarvasa. Some people think that only the Uttarasanga is the ordination, which is ignorance and there is nothing to say. Although there are four types of medicine, the food that is suitable for the time is: for eating, there is rice, tsampa, meat, dumplings, yogurt, cheese, yogurt, cream, noodles, etc. These are all untimely foods.

It is not appropriate to eat casually. The rules are: the leaves of grapes, peaches, radishes, etc., are also edible foods. It seems that there are many cases where people do not abstain from yogurt, peaches, etc. Any food, if it is for one's own consumption, requires giving and receiving (བྱིན་ལེན་, Sanskrit: adinnādāna, Romanized Sanskrit: adinnādāna, literal Chinese meaning: not given and taken). Water for rinsing the mouth does not require giving and receiving, but if it is drunk to quench thirst, it requires giving and receiving, according to the omniscient Lobsang Gyatso. There are many ways in which giving and receiving can be established and broken. Between the giver and the receiver, if there is a barrier of stone, wood, cloth, etc., that is more than four fingers wide and less than one cubit long, it is not established. However, it can be established on the basis of giving and receiving, such as a table, as stated in the Kalachakra Tantra and other texts. If the food is touched by someone who has not taken the vows of a fully ordained monk, it is said to be a cause for breaking the giving and receiving. However, moving it from a distance is not said to be a cause for breaking it. If that were the case, then moving a house would also become a cause for breaking the giving and receiving. That is what I think. In particular, alcohol should not be drunk, even if it means risking one's life, so it should not be consumed. The scriptures say, "You who call me your teacher should not drink alcohol even with the tip of a blade of grass." And, "Even if a doctor says it is okay to drink, it is not allowed, even if it means risking one's life." And, "One who drinks alcohol will be reborn in a brothel, and one who brews alcohol will be reborn in his retinue." Therefore, the omniscient Lobsang Gyatso said in the Kalachakra Tantra, "This herb called tobacco appeared in India and China about a hundred years ago. It grew from the blood that fell on the ground when a woman made a wrong prayer. Due to the influence of karma, evil spirits enter the heart, and one must smoke, which is of little benefit to anything and causes many diseases. Therefore, it should be strongly prohibited, especially smoking in promiscuous places, which is like drinking alcohol." Therefore, it should be avoided. Some people even smoke in the middle of monasteries and temples, which is worse than defecating in the middle of them. Furthermore, the inner offering of secret mantra, if drunk with the understanding that it is nectar, will not have the faults mentioned earlier. If one drinks because one wants to drink alcohol, one cannot avoid the faults mentioned earlier. Water is also just an accessory to those things, not the main thing, but the omniscient Lobsang Gyatso said that it should be drunk before eating.
