Place (the fingers) at the top, cross the two index fingers in an angry manner, and perform the opening ceremony with the opening mudra. During the empowerment ceremony, when reciting "Now you have become the lineage of all Tathagatas," etc., from the Vajra-bound mudra, bring the two middle fingers together, raise them up, and form the mudra of the Mind-Mother Vajra Woman. Alternatively, hold the Vajra on the head, with the same mudra facing downwards or upwards, make the mudra and place it on the crown of the head, saying, "This is your Vajra vow." Hold the mudra to the heart and take the vow by reciting "Om, today Vajra..." etc. Again, make the opening mudra and recite the mantra "Om Vajrodghata Vi (藏文:ༀ་བཛྲོད་གྷ་ཊ་བི་,梵文天城体:ओम् वज्रोद्घट वि,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ vajroḍghaṭa vi,汉语字面意思:Om, Vajra Open)" twice, opening the hearts of each of the disciples. Place the Mind-Mother Vajra Woman mudra on the heart and say, "This is the Vajra vow..." etc. Is a vase needed? Make the vase mudra and place it on the crown of the head, empowering with "Om, Buddha Kalasha (藏文:ༀ་བུདྡྷ་ཀཱ་ལ་ཤ་,梵文天城体:ओम् बुद्ध कलश,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ buddha kalaśa,汉语字面意思:Om, Buddha Vase)" etc. Make the five-family mudra as previously described and place it on the crown of the head with "Om, Vajra Abhisincha (藏文:ༀ་བཛྲ་ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩ་,梵文天城体:ओम् वज्र अभिषिञ्च,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ vajra abhiṣiñca,汉语字面意思:Om, Vajra Consecrate)" etc. Although there are different explanations of the vase mudra in texts such as the "Mantra Sequence," in some tantras it is also said that the fingers of both hands should be slightly bent, making the palms appear hollow, so either is acceptable. Make the Vajra Jewel mudra and form it in the manner of stringing beads, empowering the mala with "Om, Ratna Mala (藏文:ༀ་རཏྣ་མཱ་ལ་,梵文天城体:ओम् रत्न माल,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ ratna mālā,汉语字面意思:Om, Jewel Garland)" etc. Form it in the manner of putting on clothes and recite "Om, Trum Om, Vajra Pata (藏文:ༀ་ཊྲུཾ་ༀ་བཛྲ་པ་ཊ་,梵文天城体:ओम् ट्रुं ओम् वज्र पट,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ ṭruṃ oṃ vajra paṭa,汉语字面意思:Om, Trum Om, Vajra Cloth)" etc. Make the five-family mudra and recite "Vajra Madra (藏文:བཛྲ་མ་དྲ་,梵文天城体:वज्र मद्रा,梵文罗马拟音:vajra madrā,汉语字面意思:Vajra Seal)" etc. It can be done with just the mudra, or with a drawn mudra, etc. In the Vajradhatu Empowerment Mother mudra, place the two middle fingers together on the crown of the head and recite "Vajra Dharana (藏文:བཛྲ་དྷ་ར་ཎ་,梵文天城体:वज्र धारण,梵文罗马拟音:vajra dhāraṇa,汉语字面意思:Vajra Holder)" etc. The Vajradhatu Empowerment Mother mudra is: as stated in the Vajra Source, from the Vajra palms, bend the tips of the index fingers, and join the middle fingers together. As explained in the commentary, from the Vajra palms, cross the thumbs in the lotus position, with the left thumb pressing down on the right, press the base of the right index finger with the left, bend the tips of the two index fingers like hooks, and join the two middle fingers downwards at the joints, the middle fingers being like a sword with three sections.
