An Auxiliary on the Arrangement of Mudras from the Ritual of the Bhagavan Vairochana, 'Clarifying the Meaning of the Tantra' with Commentary An Auxiliary on the Arrangement of Mudras from the Ritual of the Bhagavan Vairochana, 'Clarifying the Meaning of the Tantra' with Commentary An Auxiliary on the Arrangement of Mudras from the Ritual of the Bhagavan Vairochana, 'Clarifying the Meaning of the Tantra' with Commentary. Homage to the Bhagavan Vairochana! Here, the arrangements of mudras from both the Sarvavid Ritual and the two Ṭīkās are gathered in one place. Since only a few appear from the commentary itself, it will be explained primarily according to the ritual. First, generate Vajrasattva, hold the vajra upright in the right hand, and hold the bell to the left waist in the left hand. Recite "Ṭakki Hūṃ Ja," etc. Hold the vajra in the heart with the manner of pointing upwards, and place the bell in the palm of the left hand. Recite "Existence is pure by its very nature," etc., and ring the bell. Recite "Dharmāḥ A," bind the great mudra, and recite from "the bliss of existence" to "should be offered." Hold the vajra garland in front of the mouth of the bell, and recite "All the Tathāgatas," etc. Again, make the great mudra of Vajrasattva, and ring the bell when reciting "Why is that?" etc. Recite from "All the Tathāgatas also" to "for stability." When blessing the preliminary bali offering, when reciting "Vajra Yaṣa," make the mudra of Vajra Yaksha with the two vajra fists, the two little fingers slightly extended, and the Vajra Mother mudra with the vajra bound inwards, the mouth facing upwards, the fingers appearing to be burning, the two thumbs joined at the tips, held between the ring finger and the middle finger, and recite the mantra Oṃ Vajra Anala. Although the blessing of the preliminary offering is not clear here, it is said below that the left vajra fist is placed at the heart, and the right hand makes the supreme giving mudra, and is blessed with Ākāra. Although it is not said here to strike the cymbals, some do, and it is not contradictory. It is not mentioned here what mudra should be made at the time of offering the bali.

Moreover, as explained below, is it the mudra of the Treasury of Space? At other times, as stated in the Practice Tantra, offering with the palms half-open. In the case of "Vajra in the East," etc., brandishing the vajra and ringing the bell, or when requesting and entrusting activities, it is considered better to make the mudra with the right hand. Finally, after Vajra Yaksha makes the mudra, accomplish the secret water. The mudra of blessing the offerings will be discussed below when offering to the tsokhor. Then, when transforming oneself into Vajrapani, etc., from the syllable Hūṃ, although it is not mentioned to bind the great mudra, it is also acceptable to make the great mudra of Vajrasattva. In the case of "in the two palms," etc., although it is not explicitly stated to point the palms upwards, it is understood in meaning. The syllable Hūṃ on the sun disc at one's heart, the syllable Hūṃ does not require a mudra. Then, when generating the Three Worlds Victorious, it is not mentioned in the ritual and commentary that that mudra needs to be made. If one does it, the two vajra fists back to back, the two little fingers linked, the index finger making the threatening mudra, make the Hūṃ mudra. The syllable Hūṃ on the sun disc at that heart does not require a mudra, but for Sarvavid (Tibetan: སརྦ་བིད་, Sanskrit Devanagari: सर्वविद, Sanskrit Romanization: sarvavid, Literal meaning: All-knowing) Oṃ, etc., joining the palms to the forehead, placing the cupped hands mudra at the throat, after joining the vajra palms, extending the two middle fingers and joining the four ring fingers at the heart. Reciting the mantras of the three families in order, as stated in the Action Tantra, it is also explained in the commentary, but some people make the last one into a vajra knot, with the tips of the middle fingers touching. From the vajra knot, the thumb and little finger are extended separately, the index and ring fingers are bent into the shape of a lotus, and placed on the crown of the head. Similarly, the two middle fingers are joined together like a vajra, the thumb and little finger are extended, and placed on the forehead. Similarly, the index and ring fingers are made into the shape of a wish-fulfilling jewel, and placed on the right ear. The little finger and thumb are each aligned, and the rest are extended, made into the shape of a lotus, and placed on the back of the head. The left hand is also transformed and done in the same way, and placed on the left ear. These are done in sequence, reciting Oṃ Buddha Abhinasa (Tibetan: ༀ་བུདྡྷ་ཨ་བྷི་ནས།, Sanskrit Devanagari: , Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ buddha abhinasa, Literal meaning: Om, Buddha, Manifestation), between Ka Karma Abhi (Tibetan: ཀ རྨཱ་ཨ་བྷི།, Sanskrit Devanagari: क र्मा अभि, Sanskrit Romanization: ka rmā abhi, Literal meaning: Ka, Karma, Manifestation). Recite Oṃ Ṭruṃ (Tibetan: ༀ་ཊྲུཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओँ त्रुं, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ ṭruṃ, Literal meaning: Om, Trum) once, and then the vajra.
