It is only conventional truth, because if it does not exist, it will definitely not arise. Just like conditioned things and impermanence. As it says in the sutras: Form is emptiness. Emptiness is form. Emptiness is not other than form. Form is not other than emptiness. Therefore, the latter also shows that the nature of the two truths is one. Because form itself is empty by nature, and while being empty by nature, it appears as form. Therefore, from the perspective of form, its emptiness is not other, and from the perspective of its emptiness, form is not other, because the two are of one nature. Thus it is shown. Therefore, if generally the two are of one nature, there is no need for them to be one. Similarly, all phenomena should be applied in this way, all phenomena are also empty by nature, and the emptiness of these empty natures is also established upon them. If this is well understood, one will attain the Madhyamaka view of the union of the two truths, so this is very important. Fifth, the way of realizing the two truths is divided into the way of realizing the suchness and the way of realizing the extent. The first is divided into two: the way ordinary beings realize it and the way noble ones observe it in meditative equipoise. First, the way ordinary beings realize the suchness is through the appearance of duality, because when they realize emptiness, they realize it in a way that emptiness appears as being far removed from themselves. They also realize it in a general way, because for them, the general meaning of emptiness appears as emptiness to realize it. They also realize it in a hidden way, because they realize it through the arising of the image of the general meaning, and if its image does not arise, they cannot directly realize emptiness. However, there are differences in how the image of emptiness appears in the wisdom of hearing, thinking, and meditating, which realize emptiness in the continuum of ordinary beings. Gyaltsab Je says in the Ornament of the Essence: If asked what are the differences between the three wisdoms that focus on emptiness? For the emptiness that merely cuts off the elaborations of truth, when the wisdom arising from hearing and thinking focuses on it, although the general image of the object can appear well, the appearance of the duality of object and subject is very coarse.

It appears as if it is unrelated to... When observing with the wisdom arising from meditation, although there is dualistic appearance, the gross dualistic appearance like the previous two has disappeared. It appears as if it is fixed on that object, almost becoming like water poured into water. It is said so. Secondly, the noble one's equipoise that directly realizes emptiness has a way of seeing things as they are. Because it sees things as they are in a way that dualistic appearance disappears, like water poured into water. When it sees things as they are, it sees in a way that it does not see the appearance of conventionalities such as form in that seeing. For example, just as one merely blocks the tangible touch of space, and because one does not see the tangible touch, one says that one sees space. Similarly, when equipoise sees things as they are, it does not see the dualistic appearance of conventional phenomena and the proliferation of true clinging, and only sees the non-affirming negation that blocks true establishment, so it is said that one sees the nature of phenomena such as form. As the *Compendium* says: 'Forms are not seen, feelings are also not seen. Perceptions are not seen, and mind is not seen. In which consciousness, mind, and intellect are not seen. This is seeing the Dharma, as taught by the Thus-Gone One. Beings say they see space, how can they see space? One should carefully examine this space. Likewise, seeing the Dharma is also like that. Therefore, it cannot be illustrated by other examples.' The wisdom of the trainee's equipoise that directly realizes emptiness, when directly seeing things as they are, does not see all phenomena of suchness. When directly seeing all phenomena of suchness, it does not see things as they are. Therefore, these two are alternating. Buddhas do not have such a difference, because their wisdom directly sees the two truths simultaneously. Therefore, although the trainee's wisdom that directly realizes emptiness sees things as they are without seeing all phenomena of suchness, omniscience is not like that. Even so, it sees things as they are in a way that it does not see all phenomena of suchness, because in the seeing of seeing things as they are, it does not see all phenomena of suchness.
