It has been agreed upon. The eleventh is: Having obtained the view of realizing any subtle or coarse selflessness of phenomena, one day and night passes without even remembering the mind of faith. The twelfth is: For a person who believes in the Mahayana Dharma, to try to reverse their faith in any Mahayana instructions, thereby causing them to regress. The thirteenth is: Believing that external mudras and samaya substances, etc., are not necessary other than internal meditation, and thus abandoning them. The fourteenth is: Without any general or specific distinction, viewing all types of women as flawed and cursing them from the bottom of one's heart. The second part consists of eight gross transgressions. The first is: Without properly studying the tantric lineage, relying on a consort at will. The second is: Even if it is a consort, engaging in enjoyment in a way that is prohibited by the tantric lineage. The third is: Showing painted images, scriptures, the six ornaments, vajra and bell, etc., to someone who has not received empowerment or who does not believe in mantra even if they have received empowerment. The fourth is: During a tsokhor (gathering), engaging in mutual fighting, quarreling, and division, etc. The fifth is: When a person with faith asks questions about profound and vast Dharma, knowingly giving wrong answers. The sixth is: Intentionally staying for seven days unnecessarily among the Shravakas who do not believe in secret mantra. The seventh is: Knowing only a little about the sadhana of a deity, becoming arrogant, thinking that one knows the reality of the deity and mantra. The eighth is: Even if one has received empowerment, not believing in mantra and instead teaching about broken lineages and instructions, etc. Performing empowerment, consecration, fire puja, etc., without having done the retreat for accomplishment is said to be the root of gross transgressions. If we summarize the method of protection, it is said that one must know and protect against the four doors through which downfalls occur. That is, if one does not know from what cause downfalls arise, then that is a door to downfall. Therefore, one must know how downfalls occur. Even if one knows, if one does not respect the training, then that is a door to downfall. Therefore, one must contemplate karma and its effects and respect it. Even if one respects, if one does not rely on mindfulness and awareness, then that is a door to downfall. Therefore, one must always abide in vigilance. Even if one does so, if afflictions are too strong, then that is a door to downfall. Therefore, one must rely on the antidote to whichever affliction is strongest. In particular, when sick, tired, unable, mainly working for the benefit of others, and in cases of beneficial necessity

Even if one uses them with pride, etc., it is possible that a major offense becomes minor, and a minor offense becomes innocent. As it is said: Even if forbidden things are used, it does not become a sin for those with virtuous minds. Furthermore, there are two types of vows: the individual vows of the five families and the general vows of the five families. The first has five parts. The first is the discipline of the Vairochana family, from "the discipline of morality" to "from today I will uphold the vows." The second is the vow of the Akshobhya family, from "the supreme Vajra family" to "knowing." The third is the vow of the Ratnasambhava family, from "the supreme Ratna family" to "always giving." The fourth is the vow of the Amitabha family, from "the great Bodhi" to "upholding." The fifth is the vow of the Amoghasiddhi family, from "the supreme Karma family" to "doing as much as possible," as shown. Secondly, the general vows of the five families have two parts: the root and the branches. The first is to protect all fourteen root downfalls mentioned earlier. The second, the branch vows, can be summarized into two: vows to abandon and vows to rely on. The first is to abandon the four root vows, drinking alcohol, the ten non-virtues, etc. The second is to rely on the lama, practice the ten virtues, etc. These are just examples; the details should be learned from the instructions of Jey and his sons. Now, regarding what was said earlier, generally, if a root downfall of individual liberation occurs, it is said that even if one takes the vows again later, it will not arise. However, considering that it may arise for those who have strong shame and embarrassment, there is also a practice of re-bestowing the vows. In any case, it will not arise without relying on one's own empowerment ritual. If a root downfall of a Bodhisattva occurs, it will arise if one takes the vows again through the ritual of re-taking the vows. If a root downfall of mantra occurs, it is said that it will arise if one receives the empowerment properly from the lama or takes it oneself. However, just the image of empowerment is not sufficient. In addition, the remaining vows of individual liberation, the minor and medium downfalls of a Bodhisattva, and the major vows of mantra, are mostly confessed with remedies before the Sangha or any appropriate person, as explained in their respective sections.
