思维如是：八热地狱之下，皆为烧铁之地，四周为烧铁之墙，上下四方皆被火焰覆盖。想象自己生于其中。八大地狱之首为复活狱：生于彼狱时，众多与自己相似之有情聚集，彼此以极度嗔恨之心，用各种兵器互相击打，身体碎裂成无数块，倒在地上感受痛苦。此时，从空中传来声音：汝等复活吧！于是又如先前一般复活，互相击打等，感受周围的痛苦。黑绳狱：从那里逃脱后，地狱狱卒抓住，将其仰面朝天地放在地上，在身上画八条线等，用锋利的兵器如是切割。众合狱：再次逃脱后，狱卒们将其置于形似绵羊、牛、狮子头的两山之间挤压，以致所有感官都流出鲜红的血。号叫狱：再次逃脱后，到达一个铁室，门无法打开，四面八方都被火焰焚烧，心想现在连逃脱都没有了，于是发出凄厉的号叫声。大号叫狱：再次逃脱后，进入双层铁室，如先前一样被焚烧，虽然可以从内层铁室出来，但无法从外层铁室出来，因此发出巨大的号叫声。烧热狱：再次逃脱后，狱卒用燃烧的铁串从臀部穿到头顶，所有孔窍都冒出火焰，并在沸腾的苦水里煮。极热狱：再次逃脱后，狱卒们用燃烧的三尖铁串从臀部刺入，中间的尖端从头顶穿出，左右两端的尖端从肩膀穿出，并用烧热的铁板像裹布一样缠绕身体，然后在沸腾的苦水里煮到只剩骨头。无间狱：再次逃脱后，从四面八方涌来火焰焚烧，血肉筋骨都被摧毁，像酥油灯一样，整个身体都被火焰覆盖，有情发出哀嚎。

Thinking thus: Beneath all eight hot hells is a ground of burning iron, with walls of burning iron surrounding it. Above, below, and in all directions, it is equally covered with blazing flames. Imagine oneself being born into such a place. The first of the eight, the Reviving Hell: When born in that hell, many sentient beings similar to oneself gather there, and due to striking each other with various weapons out of intense hatred, their bodies are torn into many pieces, and they fall to the ground experiencing suffering. Then, a voice comes from the sky saying, "May you be revived!" And again, they revive as before and experience suffering all around by striking each other with weapons, and so on. Black Line Hell: After escaping from there, the hell guardians seize them, lay them face up on the ground, draw eight lines, etc., on their bodies, and cut them accordingly with sharp weapons. Crushing Hell: Escaping again, the hell guardians place them between two mountains shaped like sheep, cattle, or lion heads, and crush them, causing streams of red blood to flow from all their senses. Howling Hell: Escaping again, they arrive at an iron house where the door is sealed shut, and flames blaze from all sides, burning them. Thinking there is no escape now, they howl loudly. Great Howling Hell: Escaping again, they are trapped in a two-tiered iron house and burned as before. Although they might escape from the inner iron house, they cannot escape from the outer one, and therefore they howl greatly. Burning Hell: Escaping again, the guardians pierce them with a burning iron skewer from the buttocks to the crown of the head, causing flames to erupt from all their orifices, and they are cooked in boiling caustic water. Very Hot Hell: Escaping again, the guardians pierce them with a blazing three-pronged skewer from the buttocks, with the central prong emerging from the crown of the head and the two side prongs emerging from the shoulders. Their bodies are wrapped with burning iron sheets like cloth, and they are cooked in boiling caustic water until only bones remain. Unrelenting Hell: Escaping again, flames surge from all four directions and burn them. Flesh, sinews, and bones are destroyed, and like the wick of a butter lamp, the entire body is covered with blazing flames, and sentient beings utter cries of lament.

merely being aware of this, and repeatedly contemplating the immeasurable suffering experienced by having burning iron lumps thrust into one's mouth, etc., so that a sense of fear and shrinking arises from the depths of one's heart. Such suffering is not just a short duration. Fifty human years are one day and night for the Four Great Kings. Thirty of those days make a month, twelve months make a year, and five hundred years is the lifespan of the Four Great Kings. Adding all of that together as one day. Thirty days make a month, twelve months make a year, and five hundred years is the lifespan of the Reviving Hell. Similarly, taking one hundred, two hundred, four hundred, eight hundred, and sixteen hundred human years as one day, one thousand, two thousand, four thousand, eight thousand, and sixteen thousand years are the lifespans of the Thirty-three Gods up to the Control of Others' Emanations, respectively.
