This is because of the reason that it has been recorded. However, the meaning of the word "Ata" (transliteration of the Tibetan) as a Sanskrit term for "then" is not clear. Generally, the word "Ata" has meanings such as immediately, mastered, auspicious, etc. Here, it means "immediately," that is, after the Tantra has been explained in detail before, it is immediately connected. Who asked? It is "Glorious"—this word has many meanings. Because he has attained the three bodies of Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya, and Nirmanakaya, he is glorious. Also, because he has attained the two bodies of self-interest and other-interest, he is glorious. Also, because he has entered the non-dual wisdom of emptiness and oneness, he is glorious. Also, because he has attained the ultimate wisdom of inseparable bliss and emptiness, he is glorious. These are all present in his mindstream. Vajradhara, this word has two meanings: a literal direct meaning and a non-literal hidden meaning. The first is the meaning of holding the vajra. The latter, according to Anuttarayoga, is the wisdom of inseparable bliss and emptiness at the time of fruition; according to the common saying of Anuttarayoga and Yoga Tantra, it is the non-dual wisdom itself that holds or grasps its own nature. The Sanskrit term "Vajradhara (藏文:བཛྲ་དྷ་ར་,梵文天城体:वज्रधर,梵文罗马拟音:vajradhara,汉语字面意思:Vajra Holder)" can be considered applicable to both situations. Outwardly, he subdues the difficult-to-tame yakshas and rakshasas; inwardly, he subdues the difficult-to-tame afflictions, and the secret difficult-to-tame is the wind. Although there are many ways to subdue all the difficult-to-tame of outer, inner, and secret, he is the most supreme of these, and the way of subduing is mainly through fierce methods. One who is able to subdue in this way is a powerful hero. Because he has mastered the lords of the three realms of underground, above ground, and above the ground, he is the victor over the three realms. He has the vajra of non-dual wisdom in his heart and is able to control it, so he is the sovereign. Or he is the master of secret yakshas, or because he possesses the unsurpassed wisdom that needs to be kept secret from the lower tantras and the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, he is the king of secrets and is able to control it. Such a master of secrets has eyes like the blooming white lotus petals and a face like a blooming lotus. That secret lord repeatedly raises the symbolic, exemplary supreme vajra in his own hands.

And, the symbolic meaning of the wisdom vajra is to sow in the continuum of those to be tamed, that is, to propagate. Then, what kind of retinue does the secret lord have? He has a retinue of countless beings with names like Vajrapani, who have successively wrathful expressions, etc. All those wrathful ones are heroes who are able to subdue the difficult to tame, that is, because they are able to subdue the terrifying things like bared fangs and all the unruly, they are brave in appearance, or as a symbol of being able to subdue all of these, they have the appearance of bravery and the demeanor of the nine dances. Their hand implements are vajras, from the tips of which intense light radiates, and they hold them up with their own hands. All of these also have great compassion and great wisdom, and are supreme in benefiting beings through various methods such as peaceful and wrathful means. Towards benefiting sentient beings, they have the joy of compassion, are satisfied with wisdom, have a contented mind, and have the form of wrathful bodies. Thus, the teaching is mainly that they have become the protectors who perform the Buddha's activities through wrathful means. Such wrathful ones, together with those who respectfully bow to the teacher, prostrate to the Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha, the protector of sentient beings, and sit before the Buddha with their hands folded. Sitting thus, the manner of requesting is as follows: They requested as it is said below. For what purpose do they request? Because he pervades all lineages, they call the teacher the Pervader, and request for the benefit of myself, that is, for benefit, for my sake, and because you are compassionate to me. Benefiting me, also in the manner of showing an endless net of illusions in an illusory form, so that I may somehow attain the perfectly complete enlightenment of Buddhahood. Here, Vajrapani himself is shown as not having attained that, in consideration of the sentient beings to be tamed. After requesting in that way for one's own benefit, to whom does one further request? To all sentient beings whose minds are disturbed by afflictions such as desire, who are drowning in the swamp of ignorance, who are ignorant of what is to be known, for the temporary benefit and the ultimate unsurpassed fruit of the four bodies.
