In that good and joyful lotus wheel, born from an extremely beautiful lotus, may I also receive the prophecy there, directly prophesied by the Buddha Amitabha. After I have received the excellent prophecy there, with hundreds of thousands of millions of emanations, through the power of wisdom, in the ten directions, may I do much benefit for sentient beings. This is the meaning of what was said. The Uncommon Transference of Consciousness. Secondly, the uncommon transference of consciousness is: From the Six Dharmas of Niguma, it says, "The object of transference and the agent of transference are inseparable, and the senses are also supreme." And the meaning of what is said, "The Dharmakaya is the transference of suchness." This is the extraordinary instruction on transference of consciousness spoken by the all-knowing Dharma Lord Rinpoche. So, what kind of person practices this transference? It is practiced by a yogi who has received this profound instruction and is able to take its essence in this way. At the time of death, from the moment the outer breath ceases until the inner breath ceases, the vast, boundless, and immeasurable clear light will appear. Among them, for the holy beings who only do good, the nature of goodness, happiness, joy, pleasantness, and perfect clear light will appear. For the sinful, the nature of sin, unbearable, fearful, terrible, darkness, abyss, the form of the Lord of Death, and various unbearable sights, as well as hellish visions and other frightening clear lights will appear. Regarding these, the glorious tantra says: "The nature of mind alone, the essence of mantra, surrounded by deities, is the nature of suffering and happiness. For the holy ones, it is a peaceful form; for the unbearable experiences created by oneself, it is inexhaustible. Whoever does whatever action, according to the ritual in one's own mind, its fruit is also produced by it. Homage to Vajrasattva, the lord of the world, the various forms, the creator of the three realms." This is what was said. Therefore, when the nature of suffering, various frightening sights, and the nature of happiness, various pleasant sights appear, without acceptance or rejection, abandonment, attachment, or fear, one should focus one's awareness single-pointedly on whatever appears. Je Tilopa said, "Do not accept or reject appearances, leave them in their own state. Without acceptance or rejection, one is liberated into the Great Seal."

This is the meaning. In the Mahamudra Gangesma it says: The clear light of day, night, and bardo, complete with mother and child. The meaning is: The clear light seen now by practicing yoga during the day and night is like a son, and the great clear light at the time of death is like a mother. Now, if you become well acquainted with the clear light, then when the great clear light arises at the time of death, you will recognize it like a son going into his mother's lap, like meeting someone you have known before, and like water mixing with water. This is extremely important. This is the meaning. Chöje Rinpoche, the Omniscient One, explained the crucial points of the extraordinary transference (phowa) like this: Therefore, the primordial Buddha is primordially liberated. All Buddhas say that they were enlightened before. To attain that, the profound yoga is supreme. By repeatedly practicing, one can attain it in this life, or at the time of death in the bardo, cutting off seven rebirths, one will definitely attain it, as stated in the Glorious Song. If you do not attain it in this very life, then the instruction for attaining it at the time of death is precious. For that, abandon evil and accomplish virtue, without breaking vows and without attachment. Thus, even if you have not practiced before death, you will see the vast clear light. Having recognized the signs of imminent death, give away all things that cause attachment. Abandon all busyness and stay in a secluded, excellent place, either with a friend who has realization, or alone. To transfer consciousness into the realm of the Dharmakaya, think with joy and delight like this: The clear light Dharmakaya is all forms, all forms have been seen before, but never seen so vast, gentle, and boundless. Now, seeing countless, innumerable, and various forms is so delightful! The bodies of the Buddhas and the good and bad of beings, although appearing as various good and bad, there is no good or bad. All are the play of the Dharmakaya. Therefore, whatever arises, just look at it, without hope, fear, acceptance, rejection, negation, or affirmation, naturally abide in the state of non-elaboration and equanimity. If those nearby do not cause disturbance, from the cessation of the outer breath to the cessation of the inner breath, for three, four, or even five or six days, remain in the state of clear light like the Buddhas. If you are very familiar with it beforehand and also recognize it well, consciousness will dissolve into the realm of clear light.
