The reason for believing that the Dharmakaya has existed within oneself from the beginning is because one's own Dharmakaya manifestly arises as the essence of these ten. Having completely abandoned all thoughts, with one-pointed mind, contemplate emptiness, observe fully for a single day. If faith does not arise, then these are my false words. This is the meaning spoken in the Root Tantra. These ten are the ten experiences of luminosity for a yogi, the ten perfections for the lineage of a Bodhisattva, the ten goddesses for a mandala, and the ten powers for a Buddha; therefore, they are solely the Dharmakaya. First, the yogi sees that luminosity as dry and wet firewood, and the smoke of long incense, and so forth. Again, that luminosity is seen as various colors shimmering and flickering like a mirage. Again, that luminosity is seen as stars and many sparks radiating in the manner of fireflies. Again, that luminosity is seen as empty of mind and empty of center, as one or two lamps to hundreds of thousands of immeasurable forms. In the Tantra, it says: 'The lamp of the traveler is the lamp of wisdom.' In the Hundred Thousand Verses and Twenty Thousand Verses, and so forth, it says: 'There is the samadhi called the stainless lamp, there is the samadhi called the wisdom lamp, and there is the samadhi called the burning lamp.' The Bodhisattva Mahasattva who practices with that samadhi will quickly, completely, and perfectly attain enlightenment. Thus it is said. Again, seeing that luminosity as blazing, Naropa Panchen said: 'Like a blazing jewel.' In Immaculate Light, it says: 'Black blazing, red blazing, white blazing, yellow blazing, green blazing, blue blazing,' and so forth, and 'Black blazing one,' and so forth, and 'The rays of red wisdom,' and so forth. Therefore, luminosity is seen as flames of various colors blazing. Again, seeing that luminosity as the varying sizes of the moon from the first to the fifteenth day, and as the full moon, and as the moon of day and night. In the Tantra, it says: 'Vajra moon, immaculate light.' In the Nirvana Sutra, it says: 'Obtain the samadhi of the moon's rays.' In the Hundred Thousand Verses and Twenty Thousand Verses, and so forth, it says:

There are samadhi called "Moon Good," samadhi called "Moon Banner Auspicious," samadhi called "Moon Without Stain," and samadhi called "Moon Without Stain Increasing Light." The samadhi that, refers to the previous that. Furthermore, luminosity itself is seen as the sun in the morning, at noon, with or without clouds. As the tantra says, "Vajra Sun, great appearance." And in the Nirvana Sutra, it says, "Attained the samadhi of sunlight rays." And in the Hundred Thousand and Twenty Thousand, etc., it says, "There is a samadhi called Solar Tara." The samadhi that, refers to the previous that. Furthermore, luminosity itself is seen as Rahu, that is, appearing as a dark blue-black snake, and the form of grasping the sun and moon, and the planetary demon whose entire body is covered with eyes. Furthermore, luminosity itself, a part, that is, lightning, from one or two lightning flashes, seeing the entire world filled. As in the Hundred Thousand and Twenty Thousand, etc., it says, "There is a samadhi called Lightning Lamp, and a samadhi called Lightning Light." The samadhi that, refers to the previous that. Furthermore, luminosity itself is a blue bindu, appearing as the form of a moon mandala. As stated in the Upper Commentary and the Naropa Commentary. Then, in the center of that bindu, there is a black line as thin as a hair, from the stainless light rays, seeing all the stable and moving forms of the three realms, this is seeing various luminosities. As the Stainless Light says, "In the center of the bindu, there is a black line as thin as a hair, radiating stainless light, until the Avadhuti, called the Time Vein, appears. The bodies gathered inside, that is, all three realms, like the sun in water, without obscuration, appearing in various colors." And Je Shawaripa said, "When the ten signs are complete, the appearance of the great bindu arises. On the various great bindus, a black line appears. Within it are the six realms, etc., and extremely subtle Nirmanakayas, and countless Sambhogakayas appear, various forms are luminosity." The previous ten signs together with luminosity are also stated in the Empowerment Compendium Root Tantra: "Smoke, mirage, fireflies, and burning lamps, etc."
