It is completely pure, without any defilement. Just as hair and bees, the waning of the moon, and the eyes on a peacock's feathers do not appear. The wise are free from the obscurations and darkness of afflictions and knowable objects, and for the truly wise and immaculate, nothing appears in the same way. For example, due to the power of sleep and drowsiness, one sees sons and women, palaces, dwellings, etc., but upon waking, one no longer sees them. Similarly, worldly knowledge, the eye of wisdom is opened, and one is freed from the sleep of ignorance, and upon awakening, one no longer sees them. Thus it is said. For the consciousness in which phenomena appear, the nature of reality does not appear; and for the wisdom in which the nature of reality appears, phenomena do not appear. From the distinction between phenomena and the nature of reality, when it appears, the nature of reality does not appear, and when it does not appear, the nature of reality appears. Thus it is said. What appears to ordinary beings does not appear to noble ones; and what appears to noble ones does not appear to ordinary beings. As it is said in the Ornament of the Sutras: Children obscure reality, and false things appear everywhere. Bodhisattvas eliminate it, and reality appears everywhere. Thus it is said. Meaningless and meaningful things, non-appearance and appearance, should be understood. As the noble Nagarjuna said in the Stages of Meditation on Emptiness: How things exist, that is the realm of the noble ones. How it does not appear to children, that is how it does not appear to the wise. Thus it is said. The great Virupa also said: Sentient beings have uncleansed afflictions, yogis have the appearance of the decline of samadhi, and the Sugatas have the pure appearance of the inexhaustible wheel of ornaments of body, speech, and mind. Because the three different appearances of the basis, path, and result are spoken of, it is very important to distinguish between the deluded karmic appearance and the appearance of clear light when recognizing the nature of mind. The non-seeing of the five aggregates of the alaya-consciousness of Bodhisattvas is the seeing of all the dharmas of the wisdom of the alaya, and the non-abiding of consciousness in anything is the abiding in the nature of wisdom. This is also said in credible scriptures such as the Compendium. Therefore, from the appearance of the alaya-consciousness, the distinction between phenomena and the nature of reality: Because it appears when it does not exist, delusion is the cause of all afflictions, just as the appearance of illusory elephants, etc., exists.

Because I am not an appearance. In the "Naming the Ways of Appearance of the Wisdom of the Ālaya," it says: Great appearance, great clarity. Great light, manifesting in various ways. The appearance of wisdom is bright and clear. All forms are the glory of appearance. The one who holds the light in his hand, the manifester. Etc. Arya Nagarjuna, in his "Treatise on the Three Natures," says: By focusing on the realm of Dharma, Perfect increase arises. Because of perfect increase arising, Having obtained the unsurpassed mastery of the three bodies, Those with the mind of enlightenment, having obtained it, The benefit of self and others will be well accomplished.

From the consciousness of mind, in terms of entering various dharmas through the path of mind, because it is the consciousness of mind, therefore, the three realms of samsara, which are not the Alaya-consciousness, do not even have the slightest suffering. The Alaya-consciousness itself is all the habits of samsara, all the seeds, all the actions, and all the ripened results. Just as the waves of the ocean are impossible without the ocean. Therefore, the Alaya-consciousness itself is the wheel of existence, the twelve links of dependent origination arise, that is, due to ignorance there is action, due to that there is consciousness, due to that there is name and form, due to that there are six sense sources, due to that there is contact, due to that there is feeling, due to that there is craving, due to that there is grasping, due to that there is becoming, due to that there is birth, due to that there is old age and death, as well as sorrow, lamentation, pain, distress, and disturbance arise. Because it is not mixed with happiness, it is a purely aggregate of suffering, because it is not mixed with qualities, it is a purely aggregate of faults that arises. How should it be known and recognized? It should be recognized as impermanent, suffering, selfless without autonomy, empty of essence, like a disease, like a tumor, like a thorn, like a sin, dependent on others, of the nature of destruction, unstable, of the nature of complete destruction, various fears, various harms, and recognized and identified as contagious diseases. If the antidote of non-conceptual samadhi does not arise, this wheel of ignorance of the twelve links will not be exhausted and will not increase, but will constantly revolve. As it is said in the Compendium: When the causes gather, the wheel of suffering arises completely. This wheel of ignorance is endless and without increase. That is the meaning. If one cultivates the antidote of non-conceptual samadhi, then samsara, which is without essence, the purely aggregate of suffering, will be exhausted, and thus Buddhahood will be attained. In the Stainless Light Sutra it says: Samsara is without essence, it is exhausted, from this the Buddha is born.
