Seven times at the throat, then seven times at the brow. Then, the so-called "Hikka," touching the Haṃ (藏文:ཧཾ་,梵文天城体:हं,梵文罗马拟音:haṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) of the Brahma aperture. Again, the bindu descends, visualizing it dwelling coiled like a goose below the navel. In between, rest a little. Doing so several times, as a sign that the transference has taken place: heat suddenly rushes to the Brahma aperture, itching, stinging, numbness, swelling, the crown of the head becomes dull, stiffness, serous fluid or blood comes out of the Brahma aperture, and so on. At that time, the lama should carefully search for the Brahma aperture, and if a peacock feather or reed is inserted, it will sink in listlessly. This is a sign that the transference is mastered. If it is not controlled at that point, it will become a spur to life, interrupting visualization and trul khor. Anoint the crown with ghee or sesame oil and massage. If such signs do not appear, then by forceful effort, increase the number of upward retractions, and the signs will definitely appear. Even if the crown swells, if the Brahma aperture is not found, symptoms such as headache will occur. Therefore, open the Haṃ (藏文:ཧཾ་,梵文天城体:हं,梵文罗马拟音:haṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) of the Brahma aperture, and the bindu will stretch out from the Brahma aperture upwards. Touching the feet of the lama once, again visualize it flowing down from the Brahma aperture to dwell below the navel. Doing so several times, the Brahma aperture will open, and blood or serous fluid will definitely come out, and the reed can be inserted. From then on, if the Brahma aperture is not blocked with Haṃ (藏文:ཧཾ་,梵文天城体:हं,梵文罗马拟音:haṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), it will become a spur to life, so blocking it is very important. From then on, do not do Hikka and trul khor, but make the bindu travel freely within the central channel, and it is very important to block the Brahma aperture with Haṃ (藏文:ཧཾ་,梵文天城体:हं,梵文罗马拟音:haṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). By this, the transference will be mastered. The so-called "Hikka" is a mantra that shortens life, so before the transference is accomplished, only draw it up, and after it is accomplished, do not draw up Hikka. If the transference is overdone due to forceful effort, the signs are that consciousness is about to become unconscious, the mind is pushed upwards, dizziness, etc., then strike the soles of both feet with your fists, massage the crown of the head, focus intently on visualizing a very heavy golden stupa on the soles of both feet, and focus intensely and press down many times, and it will be pacified. Most of the key points are to be seen in practice. This is called the transference of practice, and it should be practiced well before illness and before signs of death appear. Samaya. Second, activity.

The transference of union is: If the signs of death are complete and even after performing the death-averting ritual three times there is no improvement, then now the consciousness should be transferred. This has four aspects: the transference of the Dharmakaya, the transference of the Sambhogakaya, the transference of the Nirmanakaya, and the transference of an ordinary person. For all of these situations: Kyema! At this time when death and Bardo arise for me, having abandoned attachment and clinging to everything, do not let the mind wander from the clear instructions, transfer the self-aware awareness into the unborn space of the Dharmadhatu. Thus it is said. Therefore, as a sign of being in the death Bardo: being struck down by the disease of death, at the time when the signs of death are complete, clarifying what is unclear in the death Bardo, the instruction is like a beautiful woman looking in a mirror, there are two types: clarification by others and self-clarification. The first is: Do you yourself recognize that the signs of death are complete? Even if you do not recognize it, you can also know it from the expressions of the doctor and the nurse. If your own memory is clear, then examine the recent signs of death, and if you are sure that you are going to die, if the root guru is nearby, invite him, and offer everything you own to the guru, without any attachment. Even a little bit of attachment will cause you to fall into the lower realms, like the story of the three burning monks. Even if you do not have the right to actually offer, you should offer with your mind, and let go in your heart. In particular, do not leave behind anything that will cause attachment and hatred. This is the meaning of "having abandoned attachment and clinging to everything." At that time, you must abandon everything you have, as it says in the "Sun and Moon Union Sutra": In particular, please your own guru, the Sangha, and the field of accumulation with wealth and offerings. Then the guru comes, and if there are any violations of previous vows, confess them, and correct any faults. If you hold vows, restore the vows, and if you do not hold vows, take refuge as the basis and then bestow vows. Then, if you are someone who is already skilled in Phowa, adjust the posture of the body, and the guru repeatedly clarifies the visualization of the previous Phowa. As a sign of success, immediately after the breath stops, the crown of the head swells, or signs of success such as blood or serum appear. If these signs appear, there is no need for clarification of the Bardo, but if they do not appear, the guru puts his mouth to the ear, or uses a pen, or puts a paper tube in the ear, and from inside it recites the Dharma outwards.
