The Spontaneous Liberation of Mindfulness: A key instruction like embracing a child in the womb of the Bardo of Dharmata. The instruction manual, "Seeing Liberates Itself": A key instruction like a fox entering a ditch in the Bardo of Existence with a broken leg. The instruction manual, "Existence Liberates Itself," and six others. Among these, the first is the key instruction for cutting off the outer and inner attachments of the Bardo of Birth, like a bird entering its nest. When practicing, there are three methods for establishing the nature of the Ground of All: First, to settle the body properly: If you do not know how to properly arrange the key points of the body, meditative qualities will not arise in your being; even if they do, they will become obstacles. Therefore, the key points of the body are very important: When the body is straight, the channels are straight; when the channels are straight, the wind is straight; when the wind dwells straight, awareness settles properly, and meditation arises naturally. Therefore, even in settling the body properly, there is a sequence: First, completely relinquish all outer activities of the body, such as farming and other worldly affairs; also relinquish inner activities such as prostrations and circumambulations; secretly, do not make even the slightest movement of the body, but meditate without distraction on the key points of the body. This will settle the body properly and bring the benefit of arising meditation. Furthermore, the actual physical exercise of the body is to perform the seven aspects of Vairocana's posture: Sit in the vajra posture; place the hands in the gesture of meditative equipoise below the navel; straighten the spine like an arrow; press the stomach against the spine; bend the neck slightly; press the tongue against the palate; and gaze steadily at the space in front of the tip of the nose without meditating on anything. These seven should be done perfectly without any flaws. If you know how to properly arrange these exercises, meditation will arise naturally. Second, there are also three aspects to settling speech properly: Outwardly, completely stop all idle chatter and meaningless jokes, and cut off speech; inwardly, relinquish chanting and religious practices, and cut off speech; secretly, relinquish recitations and mantra practices. Like cutting the string of a lute, restrain and subdue speech, and settle it properly. Third, there are also three aspects to settling the mind properly: First, in the state of having settled the body and speech as described above, do not allow the mind to engage in any ordinary illusions or thoughts of the three times (past, present, and future), but remain still; inwardly, do not allow the mind to engage in any virtuous thoughts such as visualizing deities, but remain still; secretly, do not

Do not entertain any thoughts that arise, but let the mind itself naturally, openly, clearly, and completely rest in the space in front. Then, relax. Do this for three days. After that, the method for relaxing the mind is: What we call "mind" is this active, jumping, constantly recalling and thinking mind, which is the basis of samsara and nirvana. Therefore, it is called "alaya." The root of all happiness and suffering lies in our own mind, so it is very important to first ascertain this. The mind of a beginner is like an untamed wild horse. For example, when trying to catch an untamed wild horse, if you chase it violently, it will be frightened and you will not be able to catch it. However, if you lure it with various methods and slowly catch it, you will be able to successfully tame it. Similarly, if you violently control this untamed mind, thoughts will increase more and more, and it will create many undesirable obstacles such as heart wind. Therefore, by slowly relaxing it with the help of various objects of focus, you will generate the characteristics of shamatha in your mind. Next, the instruction on shamatha with characteristics is: First, may all sentient beings equal to space attain perfect Buddhahood. For this purpose, in this very life, on this very seat, may I attain the supreme precious state, and in order to completely benefit all beings who need to be tamed, generate the intention to practice the Dharma of the Great Vehicle. Combined with guru yoga, relax the three doors. Know that the seven-point posture of Vairochana's body is the basis for all objects of focus. In this state, place a small object in front, such as a twig or a small stone. Without closing your eyes, gaze intently at it, and at the same time, let your mind not wander to any other place, but focus on that object, resting openly, clearly, and completely. Do not be too forceful, like sticking a spear, nor let it wander casually, but let awareness be merely a support for non-distraction. After resting completely, relax and rest a little. During this time, do not let thoughts flood in, but again focus intently and without distraction, resting the mind naturally on that support. As it says in "Taking Compassion as the Path": "Meditate on clarity and focus, short sessions, many times." This means that short sessions will not allow the obstacles of dullness and agitation to arise, and many sessions will reduce faults.
