Considering being awakened by sound, immediately without clinging to the comfort of sleep, rise abruptly from the bed, and if there is still some sleepiness remaining, one can walk back and forth, or go outside, or change postures on the bed, etc. In any case, first, one should properly prepare the body, such as the seven-point posture of Vairochana, etc. Place both hands on the knees. The preparation of speech is to perform the nine rounds of forceful breathing. Alternatively, the expulsion of stale air can be done below. The preparation of mind is to visualize the heroes and heroines residing in space, and due to their reminders, encourage oneself, make vows, and call out: Alas, father, because you have obtained leisure and endowment and have the opportunity to diligently engage in virtuous deeds, you are called fortunate. From beginningless samsara until now, having been oppressed by the sleep of ignorance and delusion, and having slept in a state of laziness and carelessness for so long is enough! Now, at this time when there is an opportunity to attain ultimate bliss, there is no time to be careless and leisurely. One must engage in the essential practice with vigorous effort of the three doors. Moreover, all dharmas are empty by nature and free from elaboration. For sentient beings who have not realized this, in their delusion, all dharmas that appear as samsara to be abandoned and nirvana to be attained are without foundation or root, yet they continuously appear in delusion. Know that this is like the nature of the ten similes such as illusion and mirage. The profound secret instruction of the primordial state, the Great Perfection path, is: The reality of all dharmas, awareness, abides in the nature of the three kayas. The essence of this awareness is emptiness, free from the five aspects of birth, dwelling, cessation, going, and coming, and object of focus. Although the self-radiance is clearly unceasing, there are no characteristics of things to be accepted or rejected, and although various manifestations arise, one should not intentionally abandon or cultivate dharmas with inherent existence with conceptual mind, because there is nothing to be desired. Therefore, the time has come to realize this state beyond words, possessing the nature of the three doors of liberation, so one must definitely strive! After thinking in this way, from "Alas, kyé hud, son of fortunate lineage," to "The time has come to realize this meaning," repeat three times, etc., as much as possible, following the meaning of the words.

One should recite while remembering. If the stale wind has not been cleared before, do it here. In any case, just as if one needs to pour good essence into a poisonous container, one must first wash it clean, similarly, in the impure channels, filled with various faults associated with karma wind, it does not allow any qualities to arise in one's own mindstream. If even a little quality arises, it makes it defective. Therefore, rather than examining and destroying the grasping and clinging thoughts and afflictions generated by karma wind through the Characteristic Vehicle and relying on antidotes, here, in mantra, clearing the root of all of that, the karma wind itself, with key points, etc., is of great importance. The method for that is: Straighten the body and exhale all the remaining wind from both nostrils in nine breaths. During the first three breaths, visualize that all four hundred and four diseases generated by afflictions exit in the form of bluish-red vapor and dissolve into the expanse of the nature of reality at a distance of sixteen fingers. Similarly, during the middle three breaths, visualize that all the obstructing spirits and obstacles to practicing the sacred Dharma that appear due to the power of afflictions exit. During the last three breaths, visualize that the continuum of previous negative karma and the power to generate negative karma in the future all exit. Then, shake the head and hands three times and say "Ha," visualizing that all diseases, obstructing spirits, and negative karma exit from the mouth, nose, and fingers in the form of smoke, soot, steam, and forms such as frogs, snakes, fish, tadpoles, etc., and disappear as before. Then, urged by strong faith and devotion, visualize that the lotus of the heart opens, and that the kind root guru, the essence of the union of all three channels, comes up through the central channel to the sky above the crown of the head, blazing as a mass of light rays on a lotus and sun-moon seat, contemplating with great compassion, and remaining happily in a relaxed manner. And also, visualize that the guru is the embodiment of the yidam deities of the six tantra classes and all the heroes and dakinis of the three places, and not only that, but also all the pandits and siddhas of India, and the Jetsun father and sons of the Gelugpas of Tibet, the five Gongmas of the Sakyas, the Marpa, Mila, and Dakpo of the Kagyupas, and all the old and new lamas, appearing in different forms according to the dispositions of those to be tamed.
