For all who are arising, for those without consciousness, while passing away, for them there the mind-object base did cease, but for them there the mind-base does not cease. For those with consciousness, while passing away, for them there the mind-object base did cease and the mind-base does cease. (D) The reverse individual. 160. (A) For whom the eye-base does not cease, for him did the ear-base not cease? It did cease. (B) Or for whom the ear-base did not cease, for him does the eye-base not cease? There is none. For whom the eye-base... and so on... the nose-base... and so on... the form-base... and so on... the mind-base does not cease, for him did the mind-object base not cease? It did cease. For those reappearing in the Pure Abodes, for the non-percipient beings, for the formless beings, for them, there, the eye-base does not cease, and the ear-base did not cease. (B) Or again, for whom, where the ear-base did not cease, does the eye-base not cease there? For those attaining final Nibbāna in the Pure Abodes, for them, there, the ear-base did not cease, but for them, there, the eye-base does cease. For those reappearing in the Pure Abodes, for the non-percipient beings, for the formless beings, for them, there, the ear-base did not cease, and the eye-base does not cease. (A) For whom, where, the eye-base does not cease, for him, there, did the nose-base not cease? For those reappearing in the sense-sphere, who are eyeless, for those passing away from the sense-sphere, for them, there, the eye-base does not cease, but for them, there, the nose-base did cease. For those reappearing in the form-sphere, for the non-percipient beings, for the formless beings, for them, there, the eye-base does not cease, and the nose-base did not cease. (B) Or again, for whom, where the nose-base did not cease, does the eye-base not cease there? For those passing away from the form-sphere, for them, there, the nose-base did not cease, but for them, there, the eye-base does cease. For those being reborn into the five-constituent existence, who are eyeless, for those passing away from the sense-sphere, for formless beings, for them there the eye-base does not cease, but for them there the mind-base did not cease. For those being reborn into the Pure Abodes, of non-percipient beings, for them there the eye-base does not cease and the mind-base did not cease. (B) Or again, for whom, where the mind-base did not cease, for him there, does the eye-base not cease? For those attaining final Nibbāna in the Pure Abodes, for them there the mind-base did not cease, but for them there the eye-base does not cease. For those being reborn into the Pure Abodes, of non-percipient beings, for them there the mind-base did not cease and the eye-base does not cease. For all those being born, who are eyeless, for those passing away, for them there the eye-base does not cease, but for them there the phenomenon-base did not cease. For those being reborn into the Pure Abodes, for them there the eye-base does not cease and the phenomenon-base did not cease. the mind-object base did not cease. For those being reborn in the sensuous realm who have no nose, for those passing away from the sensuous realm, for those in the form realm, for them, there the nose-base does not cease, but for them, there the form-base did not cease. For those in the Pure Abodes, for those without form, for them, there the nose-base does not cease and the form-base did not cease. (Kha) Or again, for whom, where the form-base did not cease, for them, there the nose-base does not cease? Yes. (Ka) For whom, where the nose-base does not cease, for them, there the mind-base did not cease? For those being reborn in the sensuous realm who have no nose, for those passing away from the sensuous realm, for those in the form realm, for those in the formless realm, for them, there the nose-base does not cease, but for them, there the mind-base did not cease. For those in the Pure Abodes, for those without perception, for them, there the nose-base does not cease and the mind-base did not cease. (Kha) Or again, for whom, where the mind-base did not cease, for them, there the nose-base does not cease? Yes. (Ka) For whom, where the nose-base does not cease, for them, there the mind-object base did not cease? For all those being reborn who have no nose, for those passing away, for them, there the nose-base does not cease, but for them, there the mind-object base did not cease. For those in the Pure Abodes, for them, there the nose-base does not cease and the mind-object base did not cease. It is ceasing, and the mind-object base did not cease. (A) For whom, where the form base does not cease, for him, there, did the mind-object base not cease? For all those arising, for those passing away from the formless realms, for them, there, the form base does not cease, but for them, there, the mind-object base did cease. For those arising in the Pure Abodes, for them, there, the form base does not cease, and the mind-object base did not cease. (B) Or again, for whom, where the mind-object base did not cease, for him, there, does the form base not cease? For those attaining final Nibbana in the Pure Abodes, for them, there, the mind-object base did not cease, but for them, there, the form base does cease.
