By that year, divine eight thousand years is the lifespan of the Nimmānaratī gods. By human reckoning, how much is that? Two hundred crores of years and thirty crores of years and forty hundred thousands of years. What is the lifespan of the Paranimmitavasavattī gods? Lifted up by the power of merit, gone to the sensual and form realms. Even having reached the peak of existence, they return to a bad destination. Beings with such long lives, pass away when their life span ends; No existence is permanent, Thus it was said by the Great Seer. Therefore, the wise, the prudent, skillful in discerning the meaning, for liberation from old age and death, develop the supreme path. Having developed the pure path, leading to the immersion in Nibbāna, having fully understood all defilements, they attain final Nibbāna, without defilements. 7.
