At the moment of arising in the formless realm how many aggregates arise...etc... how many consciousnesses arise? At the moment of arising in the formless realm four aggregates arise, two bases arise, two elements arise, one truth arises, eight faculties arise, three root conditions arise, three nutriments arise, one contact arises, one feeling... one perception... one volition... one consciousness arises. 1019. Which phenomena are not of the sense-sphere? Those of the form-sphere, those of the formless-sphere... not moving, unincluded – these phenomena are not of the sense-sphere. Which phenomena are unincluded? The paths, and their fruits, and the unconditioned element – these phenomena are unincluded. 6. Chapter on Generating Kamma and Life Span 1. Generating Kamma 1021. Devas. Three kinds of devas – conventional devas, rebirth devas, purified devas. Conventional devas are – kings, queens, princes. Rebirth devas are – beginning with the devas of the Four Great Kings, and devas above them. Purified devas are – called Arahants. Having given alms, having undertaken precepts, having performed the Uposatha observance, where are they reborn? Lifespan 1022. What is the lifespan of humans? A hundred years, or a little more. 1023. What is the lifespan of the Devas of the Four Great Kings? Fifty human years, that is one day and night for the Devas of the Four Great Kings. Thirty days and nights make a month. Twelve such months make a year. Five hundred divine years by such a year is the lifespan of the Devas of the Four Great Kings. How much is that by human reckoning? Ninety thousand years. What is the lifespan of the Tāvatiṃsa Devas? One hundred human years, that is one day and night for the Tāvatiṃsa Devas. Thirty days and nights make a month. Twelve such months make a year. One thousand divine years by such a year is the lifespan of the Tāvatiṃsa Devas. How much is that by human reckoning? Three crores of years and sixty hundred thousand years. What is the lifespan of the Yāma Devas? Two hundred human years, that is one day and night for the Yāma Devas. Thirty days and nights make a month. Twelve such months make a year. Two thousand divine years by such a year is the lifespan of the Yāma Devas. How much is that by human reckoning? Fourteen and crores of years and forty hundred thousands of years. What is the lifespan of the Tusita gods? What are human four hundred years, that is one day and night for the Tusita gods. By that night, thirty nights is a month. By that month, twelve months is a year. By that year, divine four thousand years is the lifespan of the Tusita gods. By human reckoning, how much is that?
