On the occasion when a certain bhikkhu sat down suddenly on a bed with collapsible legs in an upper storey dwelling in a monastery belonging to the Sangha. One rule. Of the six origins of offenses, it arises from two origins – it may arise from the body, not from speech, not from mind; it may arise from the body and from the mind, not from speech...and so on. 72. Where was the offense of *pācittiya* laid down for one who, having undertaken twice or thrice, undertakes beyond that? It was laid down in Kosambī. Concerning whom? Concerning Venerable Channa. On what occasion? On the occasion when Venerable Channa repeatedly had a completed monastery roofed, repeatedly had it plastered, and the monastery, being too heavy, collapsed. One rule. Where was the offense of *pācittiya* laid down for one who, knowing, sprinkles water with living creatures, or grass, or clay? It was laid down in Āḷavī. Concerning whom? Concerning the bhikkhus of Āḷavī. On what occasion? On the occasion when the bhikkhus of Āḷavī, knowing, sprinkled water with living creatures, and grass, and clay. One rule. Where was the pācittiya rule laid down for one who, having arranged with a bhikkhunī, travels on the same road? It was laid down at Sāvatthī. Concerning whom? Concerning the group of six bhikkhus. Where was the offense of *pācittiya* laid down for one who, having received cakes filling two or three bowls, receives more than that? It was laid down in Sāvatthī. Concerning whom? Concerning many monks. On what occasion? On the occasion when many monks were not moderate having known, they accepted, in that matter. One rule. Where was the offense of expiation laid down for one who eats food or edibles not left over, after having eaten and refused? It was laid down in Sāvatthī. Concerning whom? Concerning many bhikkhus.
