These are the deeds of descending from the heavens, that is, small miracles, or two miracles, or also known as later miracles. Eighty-eighth, going to the City of Good Deeds: At that time, in the southern City of Good Deeds, there were six fortunate people, namely: a householder named "Sheep," even an empty treasury, as soon as one looked at it, it would immediately be filled; his wife, if she prepared food for one person, it would produce enough food for hundreds of thousands of people; his son, if he tied an empty container with five hundred "panas" to his waist, it would be filled with hundreds of thousands of "panas"; his daughter-in-law, if she mixed one good fragrance, it would increase to hundreds of thousands; the male servant plowing one "rol," would plow seven "rols"; the female servant taking grain from one full container of grain, would take out seven full containers of grain. At that time, the Blessed One, knowing that the time to tame the Good Doers had come, said: Ananda, I will go to the City of Good Deeds, and there it should be proclaimed that those who go should wear the Dharma robes. Thus, after the Blessed One spoke, he gradually went to that place with his retinue. After showing great miracles, the heretics fled to the border regions to live. The heretics living in the City of Good Deeds, hearing that the Buddha was coming, became very agitated, thinking: If he comes here, we will gain nothing, we must find a way. So they went to the householders and other people of that place, saying: May you attain the Dharma! When asked what it meant to say "We've seen it and we're leaving," they replied: We are leaving because we have seen your wealth but not your decline. The ascetic Gautama will come raining down hail of knives, and many of you will lose your sons and families. Those people said: If that is so, should we abandon him or stay? The heretics said: Then drive all the people nearby into the city, cut down all the green grass, destroy all the lodgings such as guesthouses, and cut down all the flowers and fruits.

The Four Great Kings and other gods provided dwellings and abundant utensils. These were also prompted by the command of Indra. Then, the benefactors sent out scouts. They saw that the wealth of the road was very prosperous, and then returned and told the benefactors. The heretics said, "If Gautama can transform even without consciousness, how can you not change? Now we are leaving." They said, "Please stay! Then an oath must be made that none of you will go to Gautama. If anyone goes, they will be fined sixty panas and then stay." The locals also made such a law. At that time, the Blessed One was staying in a place south of the city of Benefaction. There was a girl who had been sent as a bride from Kapilavastu to Benefaction. One night, she looked from the edge of the fence and saw the Buddha staying in the darkness. She thought, "If there were a ladder on this fence, I would go to offer a lamp." Then, the Teacher, by his miraculous power, conjured a ladder outside the fence, that is, the iron wall. She went and offered a lamp before him. By listening to the Dharma, she saw the truth. He said to her, "Go to the householder Sheep and wish him to be free from illness. Tell him, 'Why are you staying with the door closed when I have come here for you?' If he says that a law has been made, say, 'If a hundred thousand panas can come endlessly from your son's waist, can't you give sixty and come?'" The girl obeyed and returned and said so. The householder Sheep thought, "This must be the all-knowing one." So he placed sixty panas at the door and then came down from the previously conjured ladder, went before him, listened to the Dharma, and saw the truth. The householder Sheep asked, "All the people of Benefaction also want to hear this Dharma.

There, all the people went without hindrance, and the vicinity of the Bhagavan's body, a yojana in circumference, was filled with people. He taught the profoundly deep and vast Dharma for a long time, and immeasurable numbers attained the four fruits and generated the mind of the three Bodhisattvas. And he established all of them in taking refuge and upholding the precepts. Seventy-ninth, Taming Shri Gupta: Again, the Bhagavan was staying in Rajagriha. At that time, the husband of the sister of the former boy named Fire-born, a householder named Shri Gupta, was a lay follower of the naked ascetics. There, Fire-born said to Shri Gupta: You should offer to the Sangha, it will become merit. Shri Gupta said: You should also offer to all the naked ascetics, so that it does not become an obstacle to virtue. Fire-born agreed to this, and when he went to all the naked ascetics, all the naked ascetics thought: This one despises Gautama, and trusts me, thinking so, they agreed. The next day, when all the naked ascetics set out with their retinue, Shri Gupta said to all the naked ascetics: When Gautama goes to each house for alms, he smiles when he steps on the threshold. Then a Shravaka asks the reason, and then Gautama also makes a prophecy, and in that way he makes the householders believe. You should do the same. Then, all the naked ascetics arrived at Fire-born's house, and when they put their feet on the threshold, they laughed loudly. When one of the naked ascetics asked the reason, (he said) a monkey living on a tree growing on the bank of the Irekavati River

He also asked the attendants to bring up the pots covered with vegetables. When it was time to eat, the pot said that he had no vegetables. At this time, a servant said: What should not be seen is seen, but what should be seen is not seen. I saw the monkey next to the arrogant one, but I didn't see the vegetables in the pot. After finishing speaking, the offering feast ended, and the pot said: The benefactor is the time to give, the practitioner is the time to eat, the leftovers are the time to give to others, whether there is merit or not is uncertain. It seemed like praise, but it was actually scolding. When Meisheng's doorman heard this, he thought: I'll tease him. So he poured rice soup on the threshold. Afterwards, when the pot came out, he slipped on the rice soup, hit his head on the threshold, and was injured. Afterwards, he went to Jugang and said: Meisheng treated me like this. Now I want to take revenge and destroy Gautama and his followers. Jugang thought: If Gautama is really omniscient, then if I invite him, he will definitely not accept. If he accepts, it means he is not omniscient and is easy to deal with. Afterwards, he went to the teacher to request. The teacher knowingly agreed. Jugang was very happy, returned home, and dug a large pit in the courtyard outside the door, filled the pit with kindling of the Katita tree, and covered it with branches, grass, and soil to make it invisible. He thought: If I can't kill them with the fire pit, I'll poison them. So he poisoned all the food. At this time, Meisheng's sister asked him what he was going to do. He said: Tomorrow I will kill the enemy, that is Gautama. He also asked: Then who is the friend? He thought: This will leak the secret. So he locked her in the innermost warehouse of the house and locked the door. The next day, the pot called many naked heretics and had them sit on the top floor of Jugang's house.
