I prostrate and praise! I take refuge in the glorious and holy root and lineage lamas. From "With the truth," by the blessings of the great truth, for the deceased so-and-so, whatever kinds of obstructing spirits that harm and injure, having been completely purified in accordance with the tantras, be satisfied with that and leave this place, go elsewhere! Those who do not leave, this vajra, blazing and fiercely blazing, born from the non-dual wisdom of all the Tathagatas, may it split your heads into a hundred pieces! Thus it is said. Incense the support with gugul, scatter mustard seeds, always make music, recite many wrathful mantras such as Sumbhani, and think of being free from obstacles. Then, all the sins of the deceased come out of the nostrils in the form of a black Kaṃ, the sins dissolve into sesame seeds in the form of horns, throw them into the fire on the right and into the water on the left, and think that all sins and obscurations are burned and purified, and recite: Om Sarva Papam Dahana Vajra Ye Svaha. Burn in the fire and throw into the water. Then, on sand or mustard seeds, recite many mantras of all the deities such as Kaṃkani, dissolve all their power into it, and scatter it on the bone or nameplate placed in front. At the end of Kaṃkani, add: Sarva Naraka Gate Hetu Na Hum Phat. May all the causes of falling into hell, all evil deeds and obscurations, be completely purified from the root, for all sentient beings, headed by the deceased! Similarly, Kaṃkani, Sarva Prete Gate Hetu Na Hum Phat. The cause of being born as a hungry ghost... Similarly, Tiryak Gate Hetu Na Hum Phat. The cause of being born as an animal... etc., connect as above. May all thoughts that arise dependent on the four elements, together with their causes, dissolve into the nature of the four elements, and thus be separated from all suffering and its causes. Having said this, sprinkle water from the vase and ring the bell. He who has a lotus-like form, destroys all, makes it immaculate, has a peaceful mind, and has no harm, may he bring you auspiciousness. The guide who leads beings into the path of liberation, and shows all the dharmas, may he bring you auspiciousness. The teacher is the refuge of beings, for the benefit of all sentient beings, possesses happiness, may he bring you auspiciousness. The protector who, with a loving heart, constantly protects all these beings like an only child, may he bring you auspiciousness. May he become the refuge of all sentient beings wandering in samsara, become an island and a friend, may he bring you auspiciousness. He who has directly realized all dharmas, is pure and needs no washing, makes the three pure, may he bring you auspiciousness. The great hero was born, the perfect meaning was achieved, and the assembly of accomplishments was also accomplished, may he bring you auspiciousness. Whose birth caused the earth, together with the forests, to shake violently, and all sentient beings rejoiced, may he bring you auspiciousness. When he went to the Bodhi tree, the earth shook in six ways, and the demons were displeased, may he bring you auspiciousness. When he turned the wheel of Dharma, he spoke the noble truths, and the fame of the Buddha spread, may he bring you auspiciousness. The charming one, who defeated all the heretics with the Dharma, and controlled all the assemblies, may he bring you auspiciousness. May the Buddha bring you auspiciousness, may the auspiciousness of Indra, Brahma, and all the gods, and all beings, always be bestowed upon you. By the merit and power of the Buddha, and by the wishes of all the gods, may all your wishes be fulfilled today. May you two-legged ones be well, may you four-legged ones be well, may your journey be auspicious, may those who return also be well. May the day be auspicious, may the night be auspicious, may the noon be auspicious, may you all be auspicious, may you be free from sin. All beings, headed by the deceased so-and-so

May all inauspicious directions be exceedingly auspicious and victorious! Thus say. Then, if there are relatives such as sons, have them hold the nameplate and prostrate. The main refuge is the protector of all beings, the Victorious One, who strives to save beings, the mighty one who dispels all fears. Deceased, we take refuge in you! The Dharma understood in his heart, which eliminates the fear of samsara, and also to the assembly of Bodhisattvas, likewise, deceased, we take refuge. Seeing the great fear of the deceased, offer the deceased to Samantabhadra. To Manjushri, I offer the body of the deceased. To the compassionate Avalokiteshvara, whose actions are unerring, I cry out in distress. Please protect this sinful one. To the noble Akashagarbha and Kshitigarbha, and to all who are the essence of compassion, I seek refuge from the bottom of my heart, crying out in distress. Those who, when seen, cause the messengers of Yama and other hateful beings to flee in terror in all directions, I take refuge in Vajrapani. In the past, I transgressed your commands, but now, seeing great fear, I take refuge in you, please quickly dispel the fear. The deceased, so-and-so, from this time until reaching the essence of enlightenment, the compassionate lama with lineage, the deity, the lord, the Three Jewels, and the Bhagavan who completely purifies all the lower realms, the compassionate lord, the deity assembly of Akshobhya with its retinue, and all the eight close sons of the Bodhisattvas, I prostrate and take refuge. Please purify all sins, please show the path, please quickly grant the attainment of the state of complete enlightenment, the Buddha. Thus, speak from the heart and contemplate praying. Then, if empowerment is not given to the deceased, burn the following paper and complete the purification of the path, etc. If empowerment is given, it must be done at this time. After offering the mandala, contemplate reciting after. From "Great Bliss, you are mine," etc., complete all empowerments.

Herein is contained the work entitled "Clarity." Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Whose form is the appearance of deities in the mirror-like wisdom, unstained by the defilements of grasping and fixation, I pay homage to the well-established, unmoving protector, And here I will explain the supplementary notes to the ritual. Here, regarding the ritual of the Bhagavan Akshobhya, there are two approaches: one based on painted images and the other on sand mandalas. The first is easier to understand, and it is assumed that the ritual is completed in one day. I have already compiled a concise and clear explanation of this method. Based on that text, if we discuss the sand mandala aspect here, there are two main points: first, the approach, and second, the sequence of activities for the mandala. The first has two parts: recitation with yoga and regular recitation. The first is: having first performed bathing and cleansing, in a secluded place, arrange offerings as available before the Buddha's image, and three tormas. Sit on a comfortable seat, and begin with the blessing of the offerings, then proceed with the self-generation as a deity, and the offering and praise. In the heart of the practitioner, visualize the main deity Akshobhya, the chief among the five Tathagatas, residing in the center of a moon mandala. On it, the mantra syllables appear like a coiled snake. From this, light radiates, illuminating all realms of the world, purifying the sins and obscurations of all sentient beings, and stimulating the minds of all Buddhas. The light then gathers back and dissolves into oneself, purifying all the negative karma and obscurations accumulated from beginningless lifetimes. Without distraction, recite as much as possible. When ending the session, again make offerings, praises, dedications, and aspirations. During the breaks between sessions, engage in circumambulation and other virtuous activities such as making stupas. At the end of the evening session, offer the three tormas and contemplate the guardians of the directions facing outward in the corners of the practice room until the approach is completed, performing the work of protecting against obstacles. During the second torma offering, contemplate that the assembly of gods, nagas, and spirits are pleased with the practitioner and, with the intention of protecting against obstacles, return to their respective abodes.
