Oṃ! The Lord of Secrets spoke: Mahākāla, listen! Those meanings you have asked about, I will explain to you in detail. For a person who is well-versed in vows and commitments, a faithful individual, on an auspicious day with good stars and dates, in a secluded and delightful pure place that is greatly blessed and auspicious, one should engage in reading scriptures, erecting images and stupas, truthfully establishing the ground, offering various offerings, and accumulating merit to the best of one's ability. Adorn the maṇḍala that is well-constructed, bathe it with fragrant water, and scatter flowers. On a clean cloth, draw the form of a desired deity, consecrate it well, and arrange it. After bathing, arrange the offering substances. Instantly, regard yourself as the deity, and with the seed syllable at your heart emitting rays of light, invoke the Buddhas, gurus, and yidam deities, visualizing them in the sky before you. Perform prostrations, make offerings, and confess misdeeds. Rejoice, exhort, and pray. Offer your body, go for refuge, generate bodhicitta, and dedicate the merit. In an instant, generate the form of a wrathful deity. Command and expel obstacles, and recite mantras. Vigorously recite the syllable Hūṃ (ཧཱུྂ, हूँ,hūṃ,吽) and secret mantras. Visualize a vajra tent and fence. Generate immeasurable wrathful deities, and contemplate subduing the difficult-to-tame yakshas. Scatter seed syllables of weapons along with mantras, and focus on destroying the yakshas. Bless the offering substances. Contemplate all phenomena as various and immeasurable, like illusions and reflections. From the syllable Hūṃ (ཧཱུྂ, हूँ,hūṃ,吽) arises the form of Vajrapāṇi, the Lord of Secrets, with a body color of blue-green, one face, and two arms holding a vajra and a bell. His two legs are in a semi-lotus posture, in the manner of a hero. He possesses the measure of twenty-one cubits, and is adorned with all ornaments. Clearly visualize such a protector, make offerings, praises, and confessions, obtain accomplishments, entrust activities, and make aspirations. Offer oblations and tormas six times a day. Recite three hundred thousand mantras as the standard. Or recite thirteen hundred thousand times. If signs do not appear within six months, in order to attain enlightenment, one should constantly strive with vigorous diligence. Gradually gather together and clarify emptiness. Always contemplate the generation stage. For the sake of joy, clarify that very thing. Without any thought, without grasping, it arises clearly without reliance. From the three places, the light of Hūṃ (ཧཱུྂ, हूँ,hūṃ,吽) blazes. From the syllables E (ए,e,唉), Yaṃ (यं,yaṃ,扬), Khaṃ (खं,khaṃ,康), Saṃ (सं,saṃ,桑), Druṃ (द्रुं,druṃ,准), on the earth, the ocean, and Mount Meru, the beautiful jeweled palace is clearly manifest. In its center, the light of Hūṃ (ཧཱུྂ, हूँ,hūṃ,吽) gathers.

Protection is done by the emanation of Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྂ,梵文天城体:हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hūṃ). Generate the great pride of merging with the deity. Clearly visualize the Wisdom Sattva in your heart. From the four directions of east, south, west, and north, from the four forms of Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྂ,梵文天城体:हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hūṃ) Tra (藏文:ཏྲ,梵文天城体:त्र,梵文罗马拟音:tra,汉语字面意思:Tra) Hari (藏文:ཧརི,梵文天城体:हरि,梵文罗马拟音:hari,汉语字面意思:Hari) A (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:A), clearly visualize the gatekeepers, garlands, songs, and dances. In the four intermediate directions, from Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྂ,梵文天城体:हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hūṃ) Traṃ (藏文:ཏྲྂ,梵文天城体:त्रं,梵文罗马拟音:traṃ,汉语字面意思:Traṃ) Hari (藏文:ཧརི,梵文天城体:हरि,梵文罗马拟音:hari,汉语字面意思:Hari) Ho (藏文:ཧོ,梵文天城体:हो,梵文罗马拟音:ho,汉语字面意思:Ho), clearly visualize incense, flowers, butter lamps, scented water, and so forth. All of these are white, brown, red, and green; blue, yellow, red, gray, green, and brown. Know them from the lineage of the gatekeepers. In their hands, they hold mirrors, garlands, and piwang, performing dances with both hands. They hold incense burners and flower garlands, butter lamps, conch shells filled with fragrance. Iron hooks, lassos, and iron chains, and bells are made clear with hammers. Blessings and empowerments are also bestowed. Invite, merge, and make offerings. Recite, praise, confess, and receive accomplishments. Entrust activities and make aspirations. Accumulate merit for the benefit of all sentient beings. Invite, send away, and gather the generation stage. Clearly visualize the samadhi of emptiness. Perfect the body with faith in an instant. Bless, empower, and protect the body. Abide in this in all conduct. In all movements, going and coming, do not separate from the yidam deity. If you always abide in the yidam deity, it is like abiding in earth and gold. Faults and virtues reside together; faults become clear, and virtues increase and grow. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of the Ocean of Actions, the second chapter, the practice of pacification. Then, Mahakala requested: Kyeho! Secret Lord Vajradhara, because sentient beings have different thoughts, for those who cannot be subdued by peaceful means, please teach the practice of wrathful deities. The Lord of Secrets replied: Mahakala, listen! I will explain to you well a practice of wrathful and fierce deities. A fortunate hero or heroine should have the right time, place, and accumulation of merit; mandala, offerings, arrangements, and accumulation of merit; boundaries, supports, necessities, and knowledge of the blessings of offerings, and so on. Dissolve various objects into the mind, without speaking anything, free from attachment. Clearly visualize the pure great bliss itself. Transform yourself into a blue being, blazing with light, emanating Vajra (藏文:རྡོ་རྗེ།,梵文天城体:वज्र,梵文罗马拟音:vajra,汉语字面意思:Vajra).
