And, held by Vidyadharas and Dakinis, residing in pure lands, and from places like Simhala, a part of Jambudvipa, and the western country of Oddiyana, the great teacher Padmasambhava and Vimalamitra, etc., took them with miraculous powers and translated them, so that in India, many things unknown to all the Pandits became the fortune of Tibet. Regarding translation, because the previous translators were emanations, they determined the meaning as it was, making it easy to understand and greatly helpful for understanding the whole. Later translators, because they could not translate the meaning, but transliterated according to the order of the Sanskrit text, the sentences were stiff and difficult to understand, and it seemed that they were not very helpful for understanding the whole, which is the difference. As it is said. During the later dissemination of Buddhism in Tibet, a trend emerged where all the sharp minds and any small amount of gold were sent to India and Nepal. If it was entirely for the sake of Buddhism and sentient beings, then it was rejoiced and praised. Like this, most of those with envious motivations considered themselves to be wise, were attached to the gains and respect of others, sought fame, and because they had competitive envy towards their own gurus and Dharma friends of equal status, there were many who stirred up trouble, which can be known from the biography of Marpa's scriptures being thrown into the water by a friend. Therefore, the omniscient Rongpa said that when the Buddha's teachings had not declined, the emanation translators determined the scriptures without change, explained the way things exist, and adorned the Dharma with various methods to perfect it, while these false translators of today make various alterations to the previous translations, saying "My translation is good, my source is pure," thereby cutting off the Buddha's teachings and the guru's instructions, each person tampering with a part of the Dharma, shifting one fault to another, saying that this is not like the son not being able to use the father's Dharma book, this saying is very incisive. Ugyenpa Rinchen Pal, who attained accomplishment, said that some Tibetan translators say that there are no Nyingma scriptures to translate in India. To this, Chag Lotsawa, although he is my own lama whom I rely on, also said that there are no Nyingma tantras to translate in India. Like this, they themselves...

These are the words of a small person. The translators have not even been to eastern India once, how can they know what is in India? Not to mention knowing what is in Tibet. In general, India is an important source of reference. Most of the Indian scriptures are rotten. The Buddha's teachings are immeasurable, how can the Tibetan translators know the basis? I went to the land of Oddiyana in the west, but I could not find the boundary. Moreover, the original Indian scriptures were more numerous in Nepal later on. Therefore, in one of the monasteries of Behar in Nepal, the types of Nyingma tantras are unimaginable. I said to the Nyingma people of Tibet, I will find the Indian scriptures and panditas of the Nyingma school. You go to Mangyul Kyirong. I said I would do translation, but I did not succeed. There is still translation to be done for the Nyingma school. There are also some self-righteous Tibetans who say that the meaning of the Nyingma school has been tampered with by the old mantra practitioners of Tibet and is not pure. Such a statement is also unreasonable. If we know, we ourselves should also modify such a Dharma, and there is nothing better than that even in the Buddha's teachings. That's it. Similarly, in the biography of Jowo (Atiśa), Jowo thought in his heart that in the secret mantras in the human world, he thought that there was no one more proficient than him, and his heart was full of arrogance. Later, when he arrived in Tibet, he opened a treasury on Behar Island and saw the Indian scriptures. Jowo saw many things that he had not heard or seen before, and then he thought, for the great secret mantra, there is nothing that I do not know. The dakinis also manifested countless palaces from the sky and manifested many tantras. I don't have any of these. For the great secret mantra, he said, is there an end to it, and then the arrogance disappeared. He offered many praises to the King of Tibet. He said that the Dharma in Tibet is flourishing, and it seems that it has not happened in India either. That's it. Because of the kindness of the second teacher Padmavajra, many secret treasures of dakinis that were not known in India were translated and stored in the treasury of Samye Behar. Like this. Jetsun Tāranātha said that in the land of Troling, there was no real Dharma before, and it was Guru Padmasambhava who first established it. Marmetsa Sang.
