Where does it reside now? In the center of one's own heart, from the midst of the five-colored lights, all the Buddhas, the victorious five families of Tathagatas and their retinues, are seated on thrones of lions, elephants, horses, peacocks, and garudas, possessing bodies of five colors, holding five-pronged vajras in their hands, as well as wish-fulfilling jewels, eight-petaled lotuses, crossed vajras, and eight-spoked wheels. With bodies radiating precious light, they now reside in one's own heart. In one's own brain, the forms of the wrathful Buddhas, Vajra Heruka Karma Heruka), and all the assemblies of blood-drinking deities are manifestly present. O Secret Lord, in one's own brain, various assemblies of blood-drinking deities reside naked. In this body of one's own, there are twenty-one thousand Buddha cities. All those cities are pervaded by the forms of the Buddhas. All the channels of one's own body are filled with the forms of the Sugatas. O Secret Lord, listen well and keep it in mind! When a pure and stainless crystal, originating from a snow mountain or cliff, is held up to the sun, it vividly displays five-colored lights. Just like that, it resides in one's own heart. At the time of one's death, the five lights will be clear and radiant, the natural luminosity will be dazzling and frightening, and on the vast summer plains, it will come shimmering like a mirage. Do not be afraid of it! It will come like a rain of light rays transformed into weapons. Do not be terrified! From within all the lights, the natural sound of reality will come, fierce and loud like the roar of a thousand dragons. Do not be alarmed by it! To be unafraid, unterrified, and unalarmed by these three is to be a Buddha. To be afraid, terrified, and alarmed by these three is what is called the realm of complete darkness, where there is no light of the sun during the day, no light of the moon during the night, and no light of fire day or night. Amidst wind, rain, and darkness, there is extreme suffering, wandering and drifting in samsara like the spittle of a rakshasa. Therefore, this instruction is essential.
