Therefore, when the mind is placed equally, there are five faults that obscure the meaning of equality, namely: distraction due to the influence of external sensations, dullness due to the influence of drowsiness and sleepiness, obstruction due to the influence of attachment and craving, stubbornness due to inflexibility, and absence due to recklessness and indulgence. These are the faults of equality. Abiding in the enjoyment of the bliss of samadhi, existence and non-existence are the cause, path, view, and nature of phenomena. Therefore, if samadhi exists in the realm of attachment, then even peace cannot transcend the suffering of the world. The mind does not cling to anything, nor does it fixate on anything; this is what should be understood. Eliminating the faults of clinging and fixation in the mind exists in subtle mental clinging. If the mind is without self-nature like a mirage, then who is there to practice non-clinging and non-fixation? If the nature of space is not understood, then meditation is meaningless. If someone says, "How profound is the state of non-discrimination! It appears in the realm of consciousness," then, experiencing the profound state of non-discrimination, because it is an experience, it is not that state itself. Thus it is said. Question: If, after understanding the Vajrakilaya of Bodhicitta in this way, one meditates, is it not necessary to practice the skills and actions of the lower vehicles? Answer: The Bodhicitta of all Buddhas is unsurpassed and will arise in the future. The wisdom spoken by the Buddhas is the essence of the mandala. Focusing on this is a cloud of offerings, and abiding in a secluded place is the method of practice. Naturally irreversible, accomplishing the truth, in reality all accomplishments are perfected in the mudra. Not clinging to anything is generosity, unwavering faith is confidence. Not transgressing the nature of phenomena is the vow, being associated with the oral instructions is the dharani. Immovability is samadhi, non-duality is the view, the meaning of reality without elaboration is the activity, pleasing with truthfulness is mantra and mudra. Appearance and existence are originally self-liberated, the supreme of power. Immutable awareness is blessing, the clarity of the nature of phenomena is offering, liberating through realization is activity, connecting through familiarity is activity, clear samadhi is activity, inviting is the activity of offering, secret protection is the activity of command. Knowing the perfection of activity is that. For the good Alaya consciousness, liberate like the scriptures, generate like the instructions, meditate on the profound oral instructions like the treatises, possessing the methods of practice, it should be said like that.

If, when meditating on the bodhicitta dagger as before, having subtle characteristics is all a fault, what about that? Answer: Without fabrication, like the sky, meditation arising from fabrication is a fault. The nature of reality, which cannot be examined, is not understood by those with concepts. If someone does not understand this meaning, what use is it to fall into distraction? If it is just the nature of reality, there is no fault, what need to mention subtle and coarse illusions? Those with wisdom free from thought should not hold any extremes in mind. So it was said. Question: If there is such a fault in meditating on the bodhicitta dagger, should the arising ones be rejected? Answer: Do not intentionally abandon arising or not arising, how to hold the mind's support is not manifest. Not peaceful, even a dust-like movement is it, but it does not stay there. The place of meditation is not found, and what is found by meditation does not change. Knowing the field of activity of the mind, that is the characteristic of all those dharmas. In any result, there is no superior or inferior, meditate on this supreme path. Without fabrication, all dharmas are unborn, extremely without arising, all dharmas are nirvana. Without substance, at that time all is the realm of dharmas, knowing this is the Arhat Subhuti. Whatever characteristics of conceptualization arise, if you know that conceptualization itself is the nature of reality, then there is no need to meditate on the realm of dharmas elsewhere. To that, adorn with antidotes, immeasurable. All doubts that arise are the realm of dharmas, so there is no cause to eliminate doubts in particular. If you know like that, even if it arises, there is no fault. All arising dharmas, movement, and cessation, arise by their own nature and naturally subside. In short, however you examine it, as you think, all that arises appears as essence. In the uncorrected, unwavering nature, the causes of various arisings are not faulty, and miracles do not cease, there is no fear. Without fault, because both are unborn. Whatever characteristics of conceptualization arise, do not block them, they arise and subside on their own, uncorrected, unmade, clear by their own nature. In the vast expanse of the sky, like all phenomena and characteristics are pacified, in the view of vastness through realization, all grasping, concepts, and characteristics are also contained. Even more vast than arising, even more vast. So it was said. Question: When meditating on the bodhicitta dagger, how do you not fall into error? Answer: Is the nature of mind a real thing? Or is it not a real thing?
