This is the colophon. It is said that this tantra has three basic translations made by both translators and paṇḍitas. Namely, the early translations of Buddha Guhya and Vairocana, the intermediate translations of the great teacher Padmasambhava and Nyak, and the later translations common to Vimalamitra and Ma and Nyak. Here, it refers to the later translation. These translators and paṇḍitas translated it well, established it through teaching and practice, and made it flourish. The profound and vast words of the Sugatas, The essence of all, the glorious Guhyagarbha. It is the only entrance for those who desire liberation, In this world, it is unparalleled, like a wish-fulfilling jewel. 1 Unmatched in explaining this meaning as it is, The nectar stream of the glorious Zur tradition. From the mind-ocean of the great treasure master, Its essence is extracted with the tip of the yak-tail fan of faith and diligence. 2 The great secret vajra words, extremely difficult to find, Although difficult to distinguish, are in accordance with my own tradition. This distinction is made by the glorious Lord of Secrets, I boast it as an ornament of eloquent speech that pleases the mind. 3 Like the path of a bee, it is difficult to fathom the edge of the sky, The profound great secret is not the realm of a child's mind. Therefore, if there are any mistakes made by foolish ones, May the noble and oath-bound ones forgive them. 4 Most ordinary people follow fame, Even the treatises of the noble and wise are biased in one direction. Moreover, if it is not their treatise, what need is there to say more? Therefore, I do not expect to create joy by benefiting others. 5 However, urged by the words of the holy ones, And also to familiarize my own mind, Although I am ignorant, relying on the oral instructions of the guru, There should be no fault in explaining it. 6 May whatever virtuous white dharma is obtained from this, Cause all sentient beings as vast as space, To purify all defilements through a wondrous path, May they realize the spontaneously arisen wisdom. 7 With a mind-fortress free from पक्षपात (Tibetan, Devanagari, pakṣapāta, Romanized Sanskrit, pakshaapata, literal meaning: partiality) and आरोप (Tibetan, Devanagari, āropa, Romanized Sanskrit, aaropa, literal meaning: slander), A hundredfold light of eloquent speech that has gone forth. May its arising dispel the darkness of ignorance, And may the auspicious light blaze forth. 8 The commentary on the Guhyagarbha Tantra, called "The Ornament of the Secret Lord's Intentions, Showing the Main Path of Liberation," was completed up to the third chapter in the Year of the Chicken in glorious Dongchu (དཔལ་གདོང་ཆུ་, present-day Daofu County, Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan). After that, it was interrupted due to laziness. Later, by the supreme son of the venerable guru, endowed with great compassion and wisdom
