They wept at seeing duality. The Buddhas of the Ratna family wept at seeing the mind as good and bad. The Buddhas of the Padma family wept at seeing the mind as pure and impure. The Buddhas of the Karma family wept at seeing the mind as accepting and rejecting. The mothers of the families also wept at beings' lack of skill in means. The sons, the bodhisattvas, wept at beings' lack of knowledge of the path. As soon as they wept in that way, there were no Buddhas, fathers and mothers, of the five families, such as Vajrasattva, and no bodhisattvas, and no one wept. Then the Bhagavan, without speaking, declared: "Vajrasattva, the suffering that spreads through the conduct of beings is like this: if one does not know how to administer medicine, even if one prepares it as medicine, it turns into poison. But if one is skilled in the method of administering medicine, even if one prepares poison, it has the power to cure disease. Similarly, if one has not heard of this king of conduct, even if one seeks the conduct of the Buddhas, it will turn into a field of suffering. But if one has heard of this king of tantras, even if one purifies the field of suffering, it will turn into liberation, great bliss, and the activity of the Buddhas. Vajrasattva, if this tantra is spoken to beings who wander in samsara through their conduct, samsara itself will turn into perfect bliss. For example, if one does not eat properly, it will turn into internal illness and death. But if one eats properly, one will be radiant and bright. Similarly, if one does not understand this tantra, beings will wander in samsara. But if one understands this tantra, samsara itself will turn into an enjoyment of bliss. Vajrasattva, the essence of the Buddhas' perfect wisdom, which is the very nature that needs no seeking, arises from the conduct and faults of the mind. If one does not recognize the nature of beings, it is like a young person of the royal, brahmin, or householder caste who has all the signs, games, and youthful pleasures, but if he is not shown them by his nurse or playmates, he will not recognize them. But if he is shown them, he will recognize them. Similarly, these higher meanings are the very faults of the mind, and if this definitive teaching is not shown, it is the same.

They do not know or understand. If these scriptures are taught, faults will also become correct scriptures. Vajrasattva, the gateway to Dharma arises from sentient beings themselves, just as rain falling from the sky arises from the ocean itself and falls back into the ocean. If wisdom is pure, one realizes it as it is; if wisdom is impure, one does not know it as it is. The Dharma gate is said to be inconceivable, and it is also spoken by the two causes of sentient beings, afflictions and samsara itself. However, it is that, and the result is that, with no meaning to be sought elsewhere. Those who are familiar with this tantra will understand it as it is, but those who are not familiar with it will not understand it as it is. Therefore, it is difficult for those who are not familiar with this tantra to realize it. Why is that? Because they have not realized that it abides in action itself, and that there is no abiding in abiding itself. Therefore, it should be said like this: The secret instruction of all secrets is that it is not realized through abiding itself, wandering in the world and bringing danger. This very secret and definite vehicle, because it is oneself, is the cause of investigation. Therefore, Vajrasattva, the accomplishment of sentient beings without afflictions is not even possessed by the Sugata. The qualities of sentient beings without faults are not even spoken by the Sugata. The conduct of sentient beings is the nature of Dharma, and the teacher has not spoken of any Dharma other than that. Samsara is Nirvana, and no other Nirvana has been taught. Whatever sentient beings do and practice is the activity of the completely pure Buddha, and no other activity of the Buddha has arisen. The cause itself is the result that is pure from the beginning, and it has not been opened from the cage of self-awareness of seeking and transforming migration. If sentient beings themselves possess such meaning, what reason is there for regret? After this teaching, Vajrasattva entered Nirvana. From the tantra "The King of All Actions, Diligence is Meaningful," the fifth chapter, Vajrasattva's entry into Nirvana. Then, Vajrasattva said to the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, this tantra that teaches samsara as Nirvana.
