Thus, the complete Buddhas, the supreme body, speech, and mind, the marks and how they abide, the topknot and all the ornaments, this self-nature and conventional mandala, are the skill of yogic awareness. Think of welcoming them into the center of the sphere of space, or into the image mandala. This is called the superior samadhi. All the aspects that appear so clearly, meditate on them appearing clearly from the space of the Mother. This is the distinction of yogic awareness. Thus it was said, and all the assembled retinue saw that all phenomena were controlled by samadhi. This is the sixth chapter, "The Differentiation of the Mandala of Samadhi," from the Noble King of Tantras, the Fierce Wisdom Lightning Wheel. Then, the Bhagavan, Lord of Secrets, entered into the samadhi called "Appearing Like an Image," and in order to inspire faith in the newly practicing yogis, he spoke to the assembled retinue: "Assembled retinue, know that all phenomena are like the nature of images. Why is that? Because all phenomena appear like the nature of images, and do not transcend that. Therefore, how should the mandala of images be made? Listen! This is a category of tantra. In order to show the meaning clearly by means of symbols to beings who do not know, the mandala of images should be explained. How is it done? In a stable and beautiful house, after smoothing and plastering it, paint images of five colors. This is also said to be the support for accomplishment. Cloth or groga or...

或者用青稞粉,或者用贝多罗树叶或者尸陀林布,或者用丝绸等,如果画成手印的形象,说是出现征兆的所依。以及石头和水晶等,或者从海螺或者珊瑚的材料中,雕刻出手印或者形象,这也是成就出现的所依。黄金、白银、铜等,由巧匠精工制作,如果塑造出肢体没有残缺的形象,这也是征兆的所依。桦树皮、菩提树枝或者,用柔软的木料制作形象,这些都说是征兆的所依。从柔软的布料等材料中,精工制作出手印的形象,这也是征兆的所依。在地面上形状优美的地方,用各种颜色的粉末等材料,制作出本尊的坛城,这也是成就的所依。简而言之,从最初的仪轨中说,在地面上制作坛城是吉祥的。如是宣说了。对此,这是处所的特征,作为地台的殊胜处所,也要从了解其优缺点的差别中,明白取舍。山和山脚汇聚的总称,雪山、白岩、树丛等,称为狮子野兽出没的地方,对于息灾的事业是吉祥的。大岩洞、大寺庙和,大岩石充满金刚的地方的中间,称为野兽出没的地方,是修持现观的处所。尸陀林处所和险峻的峡谷和,三岔路口、山谷崩塌的地方,是尸陀林野兽出没的地方,是修持怀业的处所。茂密的森林和,极其险峻和恐怖的地方,称为老虎豹子出没的地方,是修持增益的处所。湖心岛、河口、大海深处,水边的险峻处所,称为水生野兽出没的地方,对于一切事业都是吉祥的。山峰汇聚的顶端和,旃檀树林、花园,令人心旷神怡、吉祥喜悦的,在这样的处所绘制坛城是吉祥的。天空、大地和虚空等,详细观察后制作坛城。如果观察五种兵器的形状,那么现观的虚空是吉祥的。虚空五种颜色,各自不混杂而清晰是吉祥的。地基非常完好,没有塌陷平坦的地方,没有盐碱地,没有盐。
