Thus, the chapter on explaining the distinctions, the forty-fifth chapter, as stated in the Great Sutra. Then, the lord of Lanka, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, completely inquired of the Lord of Secrets about the two doors: "O Lord of Secrets, how are the two doors opened, and how are they explained distinctly?" He replied: "O Lord of Lanka, the two doors are like this; they are also distinctly opened and clarified by three keys: common branches, sutras, and roots. Among these, the six branches are as follows: the branch of action, the branch of means, the branch of union, the branch of conduct, the branch of wisdom, and the branch of completion. O Lord of Lanka, these six branches are also unified and perfected by twelve branches, and explained clearly by six branches. What are the twelve? They are: the branch of the door, the branch of the sacred, the branch of certainty, the branch of thought, the branch of the object, the branch of recitation, the branch of union, the branch of conduct, the branch of attainment, the branch of abiding, the branch of the ground, and the branch of the view. O Lord of Lanka, what are the six? They are: the branch of the cause, the branch of the root, the branch of connection, the branch of guidance, the branch of certainty, and the branch of union. O Lord of Lanka, these should be understood as common in all respects. O Lord of Lanka, those are the branches; it should be known that those doors are opened and clearly explained by them. O Lord of Lanka, what is the sutra? It is the unborn, the equality, the suchness, and the prediction without seeking. O Lord of Lanka, those others that are unborn, equality, suchness, without seeking, and unmixed, that is Suchness itself. O Lord of Lanka, what is the root? It is what Suchness is, the supreme certainty, and the complete grasp. O Lord of Lanka, those are the roots; it should be known that they certainly reveal the suchness of those doors. From the Great Sutra, which gathers the intentions of all Buddhas, the chapter on collecting and explaining the distinctions, the fourth.

The sixteenth (chapter). Then, the Lord of Secrets again summoned the Lord of Lanka and said: Lord of Lanka, among those, the secret door that is particularly certain, opened with three keys, is like this: The secret door of the holy ones, of the limbs, root, and life force, opening and liberating, it is certain to give, that itself is certain to be seen. Opening is cause and root, related words and certainty, and combination, is the completion of the limb. Speaking arises, everything is certain to reach. Whatever of the four causes arises, for a special purpose, the nature of the cause is blessed, it will surely appear as a prophecy. Which of the root branches, welcoming, respect, and questioning, start talking from the occasion. Association is four kinds of limbs, in the meaning of the association between speech and what is said, the last two are guided into four kinds. Guidance here has ten kinds, the view itself, as well as the opening door, general summary and guidance to attainment, self-cause, hidden meaning, importance, uncreated, that itself symbolizes the metaphor, jesting, teasing, silence ten kinds. Ten mirrors and various combinations, use lamps to find the combination of dark matter. Determine four, four, four combinations, twelve branches, four kinds all appear. Combining four, five, two, four, five branches appear, that combines five. Thinking enters sixty-one methods and, Six branches are complete. Lord of Lanka, here the six branches are like this: the branch of cause, the branch of root, the branch of association, the branch of guidance, the branch of certainty, the branch of combination. Lord of Lanka, that branch of cause is what becomes the cause of occurrence, it is like this: completely perfect six kinds. Lord of Lanka, that is also like this, like this I heard, just at one time when it was certain to appear, the Bhagavan Tathagata, the heart of all, Arhat, perfectly enlightened Buddha, named free from names, beyond all above, the nature of the great void pervading everything, manifest not abiding, unrepresentable, the completely perfect king, in that completely pervasive place, called the complete collection, in the realm of great bliss in the realm of space, all Buddhas know and rejoice, Alaya Consciousness Dharma Palace Ye

Known as vast and wondrous, never ceased in the Han lands, in the inexpressible sky of Dharmata, the sun of wisdom rises immeasurably. In the realm called Greatly Extensive and All-Pervading, without end or center and universally vast. The Great One who does not abide anywhere, the very nature of attachment without attachment to anything. Not acting upon anything, all actions are spontaneously accomplished. Not born, not ceasing, completely liberated, completely pure. Not a thing, but the nature of space. Unfabricated, uncreated, primordially as it is. Not abandoning samsara, primordially all-pervading. Not abandoning the three poisons, the Great Physician. Not focusing on anything, all focus arises from this. The path of words is cut off, all speech arises from this. Unmixed with anything, completely perfect as one. Always and everywhere, inherently good, as the great, indestructible crest, the expression of wisdom is inexhaustible, and it is inexhaustible. Without gathering or scattering, universally illuminating, abiding in the very nature of non-thingness. At the time of hearing the Secret Essence, the very words of Suchness, as a means of entering into common language, the Bhagavan of all Tathagatas, the Lord of the Supreme Secret, without acceptance or rejection, the powerful one of blessings. All desires arise, the adornment of the inexhaustible treasury. All greatness is contained, with the splendor of sacred play, moving with the great conduct of cutting off blessings, this is wondrous, the place to discuss this meaning. The foundation for the completion of the Great Assembly, the place for the completion of Great Ability. In the realm called Sukhavati, in the palace of Akanishta Dharmadhatu, a multi-jeweled mansion without end or center, with peaks universally vast. Adorned with the king of jewels. Beautified with pearl vines, hanging strands, and lda ldis. On all sides, the sun and moon rise and do not rise, swaying, thereby illuminating and decorating. Studded with stars and very bright stars. Eight jeweled pillars stand. Adorned with the sun and moon. From the jeweled pillar ornaments, rays of jewels radiate everywhere. Eight great beams interweave. On the banner of Dharmata, arises the vajra point. Clouds of miraculous power gather. The rain of Bodhi manifestly falls. The suffering of afflictions is pacified. The sprout of wisdom manifestly sprouts.
