The frivolous mind, the viscous mind, the mind of letters, the rough mind, the mind of a key, the mind like a crow, the mind like a garden, the mind like summer clouds, the mind like a mirror, the mind like sesame oil, the mind like winter wine, and so on, the suchness of the infinite mind is the suchness of Vajrasattva. The suchness of Vajrasattva is the suchness of reality itself. Hey, Lord of Lanka, why is that? Because the suchness of Vajrasattva is uncorrected, unadulterated, uncreated, unexamined, just as it is. The suchness of the minds of all sentient beings is also uncorrected, unadulterated, uncreated, unexamined, because it is reality itself. Whoever

The great Bodhicitta is Vajrasattva. This is also the nectar of all Buddhas, like this: If there is no water of Bodhicitta, even the Buddhas will become dry. This river of Bodhicitta moistens the previous attachments and the dryness of extremes. Because the nature of mind is emptiness, everything that arises from it is empty. Because it is empty, even Bodhicitta is, emptiness is its essence. The great water of self-arisen wisdom, from the center of the wondrous ocean, the water of Bodhicitta's nectar arises, making all Buddhas cool. This is the secret essence, which is the very nature of Vajrasattva. This is the essence of certainty, praised by all Buddhas. Therefore, for this reason, the lord of Lanka, to recognize the suchness of mind is a very important matter. When the lord of secrets spoke thus, everything became the path of liberation in the suchness of Vajrasattva. The ninth chapter, which shows the suchness of Vajrasattva, from the great sutra that gathers the intentions of all Buddhas, is finished. Then, the lord of Lanka again asked the lord of secrets: Lord of secrets, the essence of secret mantras, that suchness of mind, whose field of activity is it? He replied: Lord of Lanka, that is the field of activity of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, but not of those who dwell on the ground and above the ground. Why is that? Because it is difficult to examine, difficult to show, and free from the terms of expression. Again, the lord of Lanka asked: Alas, lord of secrets, the suchness of mind, the essence of secret mantras, if it is not shared with others besides those holy ones, then if those yogis who should practice observe the suchness of mind and search everywhere in the continuum of mind, at that time they do not see the inner mind, nor do they see the outer mind, nor do they see the inner and outer mind. They do not see the mind in the aggregates, they do not see it in the elements, they do not see it in the sense bases. Because he does not see the mind, and if he looks at where this mind comes from, he thinks like this: Whatever there is an object, the mind arises. He also thinks like this: That object

What else is there? What else is that Bodhisattva? Is the object of focus itself the mind? Is the Bodhisattva himself the object of focus? If the object of focus is also something else, and the Bodhisattva is also something else, then Suchness is not one, but becomes two. But if it is one, then it is unreasonable for the mind to look at the mind and for the mind to see the mind. For example, just as a sword cannot cut itself, and the tip of a finger cannot touch itself, so the mind cannot focus on the mind. If one looks at it in this way, one sees it like this: there is nothing to be obtained, the mind has no place to dwell, no support, it is not annihilation, it is not permanent, it is not accumulated, it does not arise from cause, it is not produced by conditions, it is not from that, it is not from another, it is not itself, it is not other, it has no kind, no cause, it does not disappear, it does not appear, and one sees that it has no self-nature as it is. True, unmoving, solitary, not seen at all, not completely seen, not discriminating, not completely discriminating, not moving, not thinking, not scattering. The mind is formless, and what arises is also formless. For those who are formless, enlightenment is also formless. The nature of mind is enlightenment. The nature of enlightenment is all phenomena. The nature of all phenomena is Suchness. This mind is so fast, very fast, not abiding, flowing, like a monkey, like the wind, like a mirage, like a stream of water, like a candle, like the image of a body, walking far, not moving anywhere, returning, abiding in the object, the six field of activity, all-knowing, capable alone, not arising, all arising, peacefully abiding, different and same, not scattered, completely scattered, knowing the mind equally in the three times, knowing the mind as it is, and also completely knowing the minds of others in the same way. Just as one's own mind is emptiness, so one also completely knows that the minds of all beings are emptiness. Just as one knows one's own mind equally, so one also completely knows that the minds of all beings are equal. Thus, one completely knows that all phenomena are equal. Because all phenomena are equal, one completely knows that enlightenment is equal. Thus, one completely knows that the mind is the realm of all phenomena. The realm of all phenomena is
