Because not seeing the weak as weak, therefore, in order to completely liberate all essence into Bodhi, it is great compassion. But the compassion of the immature takes the lives of beings in the three thousand great thousand worlds, and takes lives at will, which should be understood as small compassion. Lord of Lanka, therefore, should constantly abide in great compassion. Lord of Lanka, those who abide in great compassion neither liberate any beings nor bind any beings, but kill without actually killing with a vajra weapon, only kill. Why is that? Because it is established as beings from the absence of beings. Great compassion should be understood as the highest term for the difference between suchness and suddenness. Lord of Lanka, therefore, it is like this: boundless established as name, existence, what is seen, appearance, fame, all dharmas, are merely established as terms, where is there substance in them? For the basis of establishing as name, there is no cause, establishing, attachment, accomplishing, achieving, wherever you look, it will appear, therefore, doing nothing is also considered done. From non-appearance, everything appears, everything is a sudden appearance, it is the essence of the non-self-nature of appearance, and there is no attachment to either existence or non-existence. From no Buddha arises Buddha, and Bodhi, Dharma-nature, etc., in order to show to the ignorant who do not understand, different name terms are established. For that itself, Buddha and Bodhi, Dharma-nature, etc., there are no name terms, no words expressed in language. From the vast center of Dharma-nature's emptiness, with the bright body of the sun of wisdom, with the light of the lamp of compassion, dispel the darkness of ignorance and completely appear. After saying this, the Bodhisattvas of all sentient beings, including the Lord of Lanka, no longer relied on others and all breathed a sigh of relief. In the great sutra where the intentions of all Buddhas are gathered, the chapter showing the nature of secret mantras, that is, the eighth chapter. In the reason for the certain arising of the Great Vehicle, stating the story of the complete arrangement of lamps, a detailed discussion on the wisdom of the Dharma seal, that is, the second chapter showing the way of arising. The second volume ends. After that, the Lord of Lanka again said to the Lord of Secrets about what happened before.

When asked about the indication that certainty was attained through which of the twelve sentences, it also occurred. Asked: Hey, Lord of Secrets, when you prophesy by showing how the great secret vehicle arises, through what is certainty attained, such that it is also described as having occurred? Replied: Whoever, the lord of Lanka, attains the irreversible certainty of the essence of secret mantras, Vajrasattva, that should be considered the only one. Replied: Lord of Secrets, where does the essence of secret mantras, Vajrasattva, come from? Where does it reside? Where does it appear? How does it arise? When asked thus, the Lord of Secrets replied: Hey, Lord of Lanka, the very essence of secret mantras, Vajrasattva, arises from the realm of both samsara and nirvana. It resides in the hearts of all Buddhas and in the minds of all sentient beings. It appears in limitless pure lands. It is self-arisen as it is primordially pure and pure by nature. Again, the lord of Lanka asked: Lord of Secrets, upon what should the certainty of Vajrasattva himself be established? The Lord of Secrets replied: Lord of Lanka, Vajrasattva is liberated from the very nature of one and different, the dharmata of all dharmas, unconditioned and uncorrupted. That which abides primordially in the essence of enlightenment is designated as the Vajrasattva of primordial purity. The state of seeing the dharmata of the minds of all sentient beings is designated as the Vajrasattva of pure lineage. Likewise, all Buddhas also appear as Buddhas of primordial purity and pure lineage. Therefore, the certainty of Vajrasattva should be established upon the suchness of primordial purity of all things. Again, the lord of Lanka asked: Lord of Secrets, what is the dharmata of the minds of all sentient beings? What is it that, if seen, is seeing it? When asked thus, the Lord of Secrets replied: Lord of Lanka, seeing the suchness of all sentient beings is seeing it. The suchness of all sentient beings is unsurpassed enlightenment. In it, not even a particle of dharma can be found. It is the characteristic of space. In it, there is neither one who attains enlightenment nor anything to be enlightened.

There, sentient beings do not exist, nor does the imputation of sentient beings exist. Dharmas do not exist, nor does the imputation of dharmas exist. Why is that? All dharmas are the nature of enlightenment, and enlightenment is the nature of space. The nature of space is devoid of all characteristics. Therefore, enlightenment should be sought from the mind. Since that mind is inherently completely pure, it is not within, nor is it without, nor is it observed in either. That mind is not seen even by the Buddhas. It is not seen, nor will it be seen. How is it not seen? It is not seen as color. It is not seen as shape. It is not seen as darkness. It is not seen as light. It is not seen as male or female. It is not seen as hermaphrodite. It is not seen. It is not seen as the nature of the three realms. It is not seen as the mind of the gods. It is not seen as the mind of the nagas. Likewise, it is not seen as the mind of yakshas, the mind of gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans and non-humans, animals, pretas, hell-beings, and so forth, the minds of beings of different destinies. It is devoid of all thoughts and discriminations. Why is that? Whatever is the nature of the mind, that is the self-arisen wisdom of Vajrasattva, and that wisdom is the nature of space, because it is without nature. Again, the Lord of Lanka asked, "O Lord of Secrets, why is the mind of sentient beings the self-arisen wisdom of Vajrasattva?" The Lord of Secrets said, "Lord of Lanka, whatever is the suchness of sentient beings, and whatever is the suchness of Vajrasattva, these two are non-dual and cannot be made into two. How is that? Like this: whatever is the suchness of the mind of attachment, that is the suchness of Vajrasattva. Whatever is the suchness of Vajrasattva, that is suchness itself. Whatever is the suchness of the mind without attachment, that is the suchness of Vajrasattva. Whatever is the suchness of Vajrasattva, that is suchness itself. Whatever is the suchness of the mind of hatred, that is the suchness of Vajrasattva. Whatever is the suchness of Vajrasattva, that is suchness itself."
