Now, the fourth chapter of the lineage of the only son, in which the Buddha taught the instructions. bhid tya, A (Tibetan: ཨཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: आ, Sanskrit Romanization: ā, Chinese literal meaning: A), Tathagata (Tibetan: ཏ་ཐཱ་ག་ཏ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: तथागत, Sanskrit Romanization: tathāgata, Chinese literal meaning: Tathagata), Kula (Tibetan: ཀུ་ལ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: कुल, Sanskrit Romanization: kula, Chinese literal meaning: Lineage), Five (Tibetan: པཉྩ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: पञ्च, Sanskrit Romanization: pañca, Chinese literal meaning: Five), Pani (Tibetan: པ་ནི།, Sanskrit Devanagari: पानि, Sanskrit Romanization: pāni, Chinese literal meaning: Pani), Buddha (Tibetan: བུདྡྷ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: बुद्ध, Sanskrit Romanization: buddha, Chinese literal meaning: Buddha), Kula (Tibetan: ཀུ་ལ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: कुल, Sanskrit Romanization: kula, Chinese literal meaning: Lineage), Five (Tibetan: པཉྩ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: पञ्च, Sanskrit Romanization: pañca, Chinese literal meaning: Five), Citta (Tibetan: ཙིཏྟ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: चित्त, Sanskrit Romanization: citta, Chinese literal meaning: Mind), Pani (Tibetan: པཱ་ནི།, Sanskrit Devanagari: पानि, Sanskrit Romanization: pāni, Chinese literal meaning: Pani), Buddha (Tibetan: བུདྡྷ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: बुद्ध, Sanskrit Romanization: buddha, Chinese literal meaning: Buddha), Kaya (Tibetan: ཀཱ་ཡ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: काय, Sanskrit Romanization: kāya, Chinese literal meaning: Body), Hamala (Tibetan: ཧཱ་མཱ་ལཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हामाला, Sanskrit Romanization: hā mālā, Chinese literal meaning: Hamala), Asrava (Tibetan: ཨཱསཝ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: आस्रव, Sanskrit Romanization: āsrava, Chinese literal meaning: Asrava). Having said this, he passed into peace. From the center of the sky, five radiant jeweled palaces of the sun and moon appeared. From that instruction of abiding, again the Lord of Secrets asked, "Wonderful! Wonderful! Buddha Vajradhara, please speak of the way the Buddhas abide." The Bhagavan said, "Vajrapani, listen without distraction. In the center of your own heart, the bodies of all the Buddhas, as small as mustard seeds, abide as far as the eye can see." In your own heart, all the Buddhas, the five victorious ones with their retinues, are on seats of lions, elephants, horses, peacocks, and shangshang birds, possessing five body colors, holding five-pointed vajras in their hands, and holding jewels, eight-petaled lotuses, crossed vajras, and eight-spoked wheels, their radiant jewel bodies now abide in your own heart. In your own brain, there are the bodies of the wrathful Buddhas, Vajra Heruka (Tibetan: བཛྲ་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्र हेरुक, Sanskrit Romanization: vajra heruka, Chinese literal meaning: Vajra Heruka), Buddha Heruka (Tibetan: བུདྡྷ་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: बुद्ध हेरुक, Sanskrit Romanization: buddha heruka, Chinese literal meaning: Buddha Heruka), Ratna Heruka (Tibetan: རཏྣ་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: रत्न हेरुक, Sanskrit Romanization: ratna heruka, Chinese literal meaning: Ratna Heruka), Padma Heruka (Tibetan: པདྨ་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: पद्म हेरुक, Sanskrit Romanization: padma heruka, Chinese literal meaning: Padma Heruka), Karma Heruka (Tibetan: ཀརྨ་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: कर्म हेरुक, Sanskrit Romanization: karma heruka, Chinese literal meaning: Karma Heruka), and all the assemblies of blood-drinking deities manifestly abide. O Lord of Secrets! In your own brain, all the assemblies of blood-drinking deities abide naked in various ways. In this body of your own, there are twenty-one thousand cities of the Buddhas. All those cities are completely filled with the bodies of the Buddhas. In your own channels, they are filled with the bodies of the Sugatas and abide. O Lord of Secrets! Listen well and keep it in mind. Just as when a flawless crystal, taken from ice or rock, is held up to the sun, five colors of light will freely appear. Like that, there are blue, white, red, and green colors. The same is true, it abides in the center of your own heart. At the time of your own death, the five lights will be clear and radiant, their nature bright and fearsome, flickering like a mirage on a vast northern plain. Do not be afraid of it! From the light, a rain of rays of weapon will fall. Do not be terrified of it! The light of

From within everything, the self-sound of Dharma, like the roar of a thousand dragons, arises, and the sound is great. Do not be alarmed by this! By not fearing, not being alarmed, and not being afraid of these three, one becomes a Buddha. To be afraid, terrified, and frightened by these three is to be in what is called the kingdom of complete darkness, where there is no light of the sun during the day, no light of the moon at night, no light inside, and where there is extreme suffering amidst wind, rain, and darkness. Then, samsara revolves like the saliva of a rakshasa, causing suffering. Therefore, it is crucial to understand the essence of this instruction! It is useless if you do not understand this. Thus it was said. From the lineage of the only son of all teachings, the fifth chapter, which explains the way of abiding of the Buddha. Then, again, the Lord of Secrets asked, saying: O, O, Bhagavan Vajradhara, please speak of the signs of Buddhahood. Thus he asked. The Bhagavan spoke: Vajrapani, listen! There are two kinds of enlightenment for a Buddha: manifest complete enlightenment and true complete enlightenment. In manifest complete enlightenment, there will be light, sound, relics, and body. If the light stands upright and appears like a ladder, one will attain enlightenment five days after death. If the light appears like a house, one will gain stability after five days and attain enlightenment without dying. There are two kinds of sound: if the sound is loud, one will attain enlightenment in five days. If the sound is downward, one will attain enlightenment in seven days. There are five kinds of relics: if the relic turns white, one will be born in the realm of Vajrasattva and attain manifest complete enlightenment. If the relic turns yellow, one will be born in the realm of Ratnasambhava and attain manifest complete enlightenment. If the relic turns red, one will be born in the realm of Amitabha and attain manifest complete enlightenment. If the relic turns green, one will be born in the realm of Amoghasiddhi and attain enlightenment. If the relic turns blue, one will attain enlightenment in the realm of Vairochana. There are two kinds of body: if a peaceful body appears, one will attain enlightenment when this appearance ceases. If a wrathful body appears, one will attain enlightenment in five days. Likewise, there will be light, sound, relics, and body. Thus it was said.
