The unchanging, vast light dissolves into the pure essence of one's own Dharmadhatu. Enlightenment is attained by recognizing the appearance of purity. Although beings of the three realms repeatedly see the light of wisdom, they wander in samsara because they do not recognize its true nature. The moment the secret lord breathes his last is simultaneous with the arising of the light of wisdom. Because the wisdom of objects bursts forth, all objects arise as the light of wisdom. The purity of Dharmata that appears for five days is one's own Rigpa's radiance or self-light. Recognize it! Secret Lord, if a poor person seeks a precious jewel but cannot find it, what need is there to speak of seeking with mindfulness? Son of lineage, the moment one's breath ceases and the pure Buddha-field, like the sun rising on the surface of a mirror, arise simultaneously. At that time, when you see a blue light, recognize that this is the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu, the empty essence of clinging's awareness. Vajrasattva, with his consort and retinue, will be accomplished. When you see a yellow light, recognize it as the wisdom of equality. Ratnasambhava, with his consort and retinue, will be accomplished. When you see a red light, recognize it as the wisdom of discriminating awareness. Amitabha, with his consort and retinue, will be accomplished. When you see a green light, recognize it as the wisdom of accomplishing activities. Amoghasiddhi, with his consort and retinue, will be accomplished. Secret Lord, through the arising of pure appearances, know the five wisdoms. Through that mindfulness, Buddhahood is attained. A person wandering in a desolate monastery does not think of food and drink. By being mindful of food, one obtains the perfectly complete Buddha. Thus have the Buddhas of the three times spoken. The perfectly complete Buddha is unconditioned; if he were accomplished by conditioned phenomena, he would become conditioned. That Sugata, the embodiment of wisdom, arises from oneself and is known by oneself. Oneself is liberated in that very state. The seer sees, and the knower knows. Thus it is said. Then, again, the Bhagavan spoke: At the time of arising and dissolution, from the center of one's heart, the seat of wisdom arises. Because of the radiance, one's own awareness has the nature of the five wisdoms. From within one's heart, the blue Dharmadhatu wisdom

It abides in its own nature. The mirror-like wisdom is white in color. The wisdom of equality abides in yellow color. The wisdom of discernment abides in red color. The wisdom of accomplishing activities abides in green color. Thus, as awareness abides in the colors of the five wisdoms, the city of the Asuras burns itself, the king of men becomes a beggar, born as a lion, it is eaten by others, a hungry ghost dies bloated with food, and hell itself cuts off its life. The mani (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,maṇi,wish-fulfilling jewel) turns into water, and for those with impermanent, changing dharmas, indefinite and reversed suffering arises. Delusional appearances are like feathers carried by the wind, sometimes high and sometimes low. If one dwells in Avici, attachment is long-lasting. When karma is exhausted and life ends, one emerges from the mud. Struggling on dry land is just like samsara. The river of samsara is very deep. Various confusing waves of suffering arise. Delusional thoughts in the mind are endless. From the teachings of all the Buddhas, the supreme root tantra, the collection of precious jewels, ends the fourth chapter, which teaches the impermanence of compounded things. Because the root of unborn is not severed, in the uninterrupted cycle of samsaric birth and death, one after another, the lineage is continuous, like the flow of a river without end. It is like the wrinkles of a river of suffering. When the later birth arises, the earlier one ceases. There is no end to birth and death. Moving from one place, one is born in another. The consciousness at the time of death connects the intermediate state, and in the appearance of that later state, one is born. In the goodness and badness of the two, virtue and sin, by the power of the habitual imprints of the past, habit connects at the time of death. If it is transformed by a sudden circumstance, then that and that appearance continue to arise. Good actions continue good, and bad actions continue bad. A temporary confusion of circumstances arises. Ultimately, it is the connection and continuation of karma. Mixed actions produce mixed results. In the single white basis, just as colors are changed with pigments, on the fabric of the alaya consciousness, appearances are transformed by the two, cause and condition. Rivers, tributaries, and streams, have rapid flows, slow flows, and pools where they gather. Whatever is done, the flow of water is the same. Whatever appears, be it happiness, suffering, or equanimity, is one in the continuity of ignorance and delusion. If the wisdom of great bliss is not realized, the river of suffering will never cease. Connecting this life, the next life, and the intermediate state, samsara is like a bucket drawing water.
