To ripen the unripe, and to liberate the ripened, the door of secret mantra depends on empowerment. Empowerment makes one a suitable vessel. If these empowerments are not completed, and if the master is not relied upon, then listening and other such actions will be fruitless and destroyed. For example, if water is poured into an unbaked clay pot, the pot will break and the water will spill. Similarly, the fruit, the Vajrayana, if one listens to the secret mantra vehicle without having been ripened by empowerment, one will destroy oneself and lose the Dharma. Therefore, regarding the divisions of empowerment, first, the vase empowerment, second, the secret empowerment, third, the wisdom awareness empowerment, and fourth, the precious word empowerment. There are two types of empowerment, that which is entrusted by empowerment, the condensed empowerment, the precious wheel empowerment, and the empowerment section of the Vajra empowerment, the vast expanse. The rituals and methods of accomplishment for these are detailed in their respective continuations. Here, they will not be explained. The empowerment section of the Great Perfection will be explained in detail here. The empowerment sections of the lower vehicles are included in the Great Perfection empowerment section. The Great Perfection empowerment section has eighteen types: the five early translations and the thirteen later translations. There are eighteen methods of accomplishment for empowerment. For the general empowerment, like a king's enthronement, in the vast expanse without beginning or end, in a place without grasping, in the palace of the realm of Dharma, on the mandala of the unchanging realm, place the mandala of equality. Draw an unchanging line. Spread the ground colors of the five wisdoms. Scatter the precious flowers of mind essence. In the mandala of bodhichitta, those who wish to have disciples enter, bathe them with the water of faith, purify the defilements of affliction, and have them sit outside the curtain. That fortunate, precious disciple, having faith and wisdom, prays with respectful conduct. Emaho! We, under the power of afflictions, from beginningless time until now, have been sinking in the mud of the three realms of samsara, blinded by the ignorant eye of ignorance, caught in the shackles of the two, grasping and the grasped, whipped by the whips of hope and fear, clinging to the edges of the two, partiality.

Clinging to the root of attachment and aversion, Acting within the eight worldly concerns, Without realizing the true Buddha, I pray to the Buddhas abiding in the three times 101.4, And the Guru Mahagurus, To show the means of realization. Within the casket of the heart, the essence of jewels, For the sake of attaining the Dharmakaya of the Buddha, I pray for complete manifestation to me 101.5. Thus, offering and making supplication. Thereafter, the Mahaguru spoke thus: "Son, you are the chief of fortunate lineage, From the beginningless end of time, With the veil of ignorance, I open the blind eye of wisdom 101.6. The true Buddha I will show, From the mire of samsara I will extract, From the shackles of grasping and fixation I will liberate, From the two, attachment and aversion, I will save. In the mandala of the ground of all, clear light 102102.1, Unite with the deity of the ultimate Dharmakaya, Show the various clear and precious jewels, Fortunate son, you come hither!" Thus he spoke. Thereafter, the student came inside the curtain, Made three prostrations 102.2, Knelt on both knees, Joined the palms of his hands, Threw flowers onto the mandala, And supplicated thus: "Since beginningless time, Not having met the mother of Dharmata, I pray to show the means to meet her 102.3. Not realizing the clear light Dharmata, I pray to show the means of realization. I pray to show the immutable, spontaneously accomplished Dharmakaya, To the fortunate me. The mandala of the vast expanse of Dharmata, Because it has not been seen before, I pray to show it 102.4." Thus he supplicated. Thereafter, the master opened the eyes of the student, And spoke thus: "Emaho! Son, you are the chief of fortunate lineage, The various consciousnesses of the branch-like son, Dissolve into the mother of the essence, Dharma 102.5. By opening the eye of the darkness of ignorance, May you realize the clear light Dharmata! The immutable Dharmakaya is without substance, Because it abides in the fortunate son, May you obtain vastness in the insubstantial realm, Abide in the nature of immutability 102.6! In the unmade mandala of appearance and existence, The Dharmadhatu appearance has no inherent nature. Without negation or affirmation, rejection or acceptance, Without abiding or differentiation, Naturally contemplate in equanimity 103103.1! Abide in the nature of non-duality! By empowering the vast ocean of appearance and existence, All Buddhas are complete in oneself, Pour all of existence and peace into the path." Thus
