Relying on the body of form, in the space between the lungs and heart, is what is called the red life-vein, rising from within the duct of food residue. It is not merely awareness, but what is called 'mind,' which has attachment and aversion; what is called 'intellect,' which has conceptualization. The three combined are ignorance, the lineage possessing the five poisons and three poisons. That vein is from the left side of the spine, from the small left side upwards. What is called 'breath' rides the horse of wind, the doors are the mouth and nose. Upon it, various kinds of knowledge arise, serving as the foundation stone of samsaric afflictions. That is the path of impurity, which I say is the entrance. Thus concludes the twenty-third chapter of the root text. Samaya Ga Ga Ga Yang Chi Shyonnu Tod Da Je (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning). To the teacher, this was asked: Alas, alas, Teacher Vajradhara! The path of pure wisdom is one, the path of impure samsara is two. Even though you have spoken well, future generations will not understand, what is the door through which pure wisdom arises, please explain well. Also, please ask about the door of impurity as it arises. When this was asked, the teacher replied: Alas, listen, Vajra-holder! The very door through which wisdom arises is, the door of the body's essence, where all converge, the door called eye (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning) is clear. It shows the appearances of both samsara and nirvana. Like silk threads, baman, and rava, called A-go, black and white are distinguished. It is opened in the expanse of the sky, the appearance of wisdom naturally arises, fully showing the self-power of awareness. This is seen directly, and the four lamps also appear in it. The two eyes are lamps of far-reaching oil, collecting the essence of forms and so on, knowing and understanding the meanings, it is the lamp of self-born wisdom. It cuts off the doubts of all vehicles, it is indeed the emptiness of the sky, all phenomena in equality, are gathered and hold self-appearance. This cuts off the continuity of habitual patterns, collecting the clarity of space, the nature of reality appears directly. It is the lamp of empty bindu, it is the boundary where samsara and nirvana are mixed. Because it performs all actions, rainbow light appears relying on the eye, wind generates splendor and radiance, transforming and showing the appearance of wisdom. It is the lamp of pure space, planting the seeds of yogic practice, light appears in the pure land itself, what is the use of saying much about the characteristics of the lamp?

Yang! This is directly visible. Manifestation is the path of manifestation. The sentient being's eye, not obscured by conditions, From the gate of the Queen's Mandala, As vast as the Mandala of the Sun. Like the rays of one's own light, Manifests as one's own nature. The five Dharmata, characteristics, and wisdoms, With distinct colors, possessing characteristics. The manifestation of body and wisdom, Self-nature manifests, arising without cessation. The body of awareness is like a temple, The four lamps are like windows, Self-awareness wisdom is like a lamp, The four lamps also merge into the Dharmadhatu. Merged into the Dharmadhatu of the two. From a distance, it grasps forms, With wisdom, it understands meanings. The bindu is non-dual with the Dharmadhatu, All lights manifest in sequence. These are the gates of wisdom manifestation. The gate of impure afflictions manifestation, Are the two nostrils and ears. Especially the two nostrils, Accumulate the imprints of karma and afflictions, Accumulate all the imprints of distraction. That is the gate of impure samsara. From the Great Tantra, stainless moon crystal, The manifestation gate of samsara and nirvana is shown. Especially the gate of wisdom manifestation. Is the Tantra of True Teaching, Chapter Twenty-Four. Again, the Youthful Powerful One, Again asked the Teacher: That wisdom that manifests in this way, Where does it manifest? In response to the question, he said: Listen well, truly! It manifests in the three that are free from place and conditions. Self-cause, other-cause, the cause of the four elements. Especially, in the clear sky, There is no wind, hail, or moisture, When spring, autumn, and winter come, In the ungrasping space, Light and color, the Dharmadhatu itself, And the self-manifestation of the five wisdoms arise. The lamp without desire is, The lamp of the empty bindu arises. In the self-radiance of the non-dual one, The bindu is the body and wisdom itself. The pure realm of illusion is, Essence and nature are non-dual, In emptiness and clarity without cessation, The manifestation of the Sambhogakaya of Complete Enjoyment is seen. Grasping the halo of complete light. The illusory form body free from place, The empty and clear lineage is the complete Dharma Sambhogakaya, Unchanging, clearly arises. Self-knowing and self-illuminating, it is very wonderful. The view is self-born wisdom, The meditation is the Dharmadhatu lineage holding one's own nature, The conduct is the conduct of possessing four lamps, The result is the three bodies as one's own nature.
