Na, completely pure! Originally, it is self-arisen and non-dual, without the confusion and obscuration of assembled causes and conditions. Even the appearances below the eight vehicles are the activity of my compassion. Abiding in the state of non-differentiated wisdom, in the unmixed and completely perfect wisdom, the non-differentiating wisdom is self-luminous, and confusion and obscuration cannot be divided into two. This is the intention of the Lion's Roar, Chapter Forty-Seven on Confusion and Obscuration. Obeisance! Lord of Compassion and skillful means, please speak the meaning of the Tantra. The command was given: The essence of what is called Tantra is self-awareness and wisdom. The definitive word is related and not incomplete. One is transmitted to another, hence it is called Tantra. Although the divisions of Tantra are inconceivable, there are five aspects of the three bodies and activities. The essence of all empowerments is self-authority and self-attainment. The essence of all vows is to know the self-nature of the three bodies as a vow. Burning conceptual thoughts and habitual tendencies is speech. The essence of all mandalas is that the three bodies, the main deity and retinue, are inseparable. The essence of all activities is that the three bodies are spontaneously accomplished without seeking. The essence of all offerings is to please the Buddhas by knowing one's own nature. The essence of all yogas is that the three bodies are naturally endowed without being fabricated. The essence of all mantras is that the three bodies are the meaning of cyclic existence, it is mantra. The essence of all mudras is that ignorance is awakened by knowing one's own nature. In the great mudra of the three bodies, the Dharmadhatu and wisdom are inseparable. In the clear light Dharmata of vows, compassion accomplishing benefit is the vow mudra. Ati is like an eye because it clearly shows the eight vehicles. Ati is the ground because all vehicles are vehicles. Ati is like space because it contains all vehicles. All are gathered together, so it is like an ocean. Therefore, Ati is called equal to space. From the union of the Lion's Roar, Sun, and Moon, Chapter Forty-Eight on the Definitive Separation of the Meaning of the Tantra. Obeisance! Lord of Compassion and skillful means, please explain the customs of Ati Dzogchen. The command was given: The essence of Dzogchen is called Rigpa Bodhicitta. If it is not perfected in Bodhicitta, then the center of sentient beings' samsara will be cut off. The path itself is the stream of Bodhicitta. If self-awareness does not transform into the path, then where is the confused Bodhi? Appearance and light are called the three bodies. If it is not one's own light, then the appearance of others is permanent and contradicts the scriptures.

Born from arising is self-born wisdom, Other-born, the only one, contradicts the meaning. That which is said as Ati, Is the great perfection of speech, And the great perfection of meaning. If speech and meaning are not connected, There is the fault of speech itself being mixed with meaning. The essence of all vehicles Is the great or small realization of the three bodies. If realization is not great or small, All dharmas contradict the meaning of equality. The nature of all tantras Is that the meaning tantra, the three bodies, constantly abide. The sign tantra, grasping and fixation, arise suddenly, The example tantra abides in words and letters. If the meaning tantra is not realized, the meaning of the three bodies is not met. If the sign tantra is not shown, people do not believe. If the example tantra and the speech tantra are absent, The essence of the teachings, the path of practice, is lost. The forty-ninth chapter, the Definitive Logic of Ati, is complete. O! Bhagavan, Lord of Compassion and Means, How are the vehicles to be gathered? The Blessed One said: The vehicles are gathered into two, great and small. If the vehicles are not gathered into two, It is obscured by the fault of Prayasapa. Essence is gathered into self-born clear light emptiness, If awareness is not clear light, It deviates from the ground of Samantabhadra. If nature, appearance, and emptiness are inseparable, There is the fault of eternalism of the Tirthikas. The three bodies are clear light self-liberation, If clear light self-liberation is not, It becomes the fault of nihilism of the Tirthikas. If self-born spontaneously present is not, It becomes the fault of other-born Sravakas. Fortunate ones see the truth now, If the truth is not seen now, It contradicts the meaning of the Great Vehicle. The result becomes the fault of subsequent inference. The three bodies are spontaneously present, without gathering or separation, If there is no gathering or separation, It becomes the fault of the three bodies being different. If the three bodies are not spontaneously present, It becomes the fault of the three bodies being hoped for. The three bodies arise as realization in oneself, If arising in oneself is not, It becomes the fault of the three bodies being wished for and meditated upon. The three bodies are self-liberated, accomplishing the benefit of beings, If the three bodies do not accomplish the benefit of beings, The three bodies are mistaken as Yakshas and Rakshasas. The fiftieth chapter, Gathering the Vehicles, is complete. O! Bhagavan, Lord of Compassion and Means, The eight vehicles, the play of Ati, are unceasing, How is the essence of Ati perfected in the Agamas? The Blessed One said: Ati, for me, is self-born, There is no need to traverse without training on the ground. For the meaning of perfecting self-born wisdom, All qualities, grounds, and paths are perfected in the essence of meaning.
