Ah! Listen carefully. The samadhi of abiding, showing its degree, Divided into superior, intermediate, and inferior. The superior holds it like a real object, The intermediate holds it like daylight, The inferior shows the degree of holding: Like the sun rising at dawn, Like the sun setting without darkness prevailing, Like this, one reaches the degree of samadhi. For those who have reached the superior degree, One should quickly impart the oral instructions. The prophecy for the superior samadhi, Is like a golden mountain adorned with jade, Wisdom clear like an unfolded umbrella. Immediately becoming Vajrasattva, Becoming the essence of all Buddhas, Is the great accomplished one, the lord of yoga. For those who have become intermediate, One should combine with the elements and impart the instructions, Repeatedly teach them, Gradually reaching the superior degree. The prophecy for the intermediate samadhi, Is like reaching the precious golden continent. For those who have become inferior in samadhi, If one imparts the prophetic instructions, It is like grasping a golden thread, Without falling back in the state of guidance. Then, this following yogi, Will break through higher and higher. Before the three strengths of samadhi are complete, Where does one complete the prophecy? It is like searching for food without a mouth. Before wisdom and samadhi are complete, Claiming to be a Buddha, Is like claiming to be a king with a jewel. Before understanding the ultimate meaning of the essence, Claiming to be Ati Dzogchen, For possessions one does not have, It is like longing for them in vain. Without possessing wisdom and samadhi, Claiming to be a yogi, Is like throwing a fledgling off a cliff. To seize the life of fierce demons, Without knowing the latch of life, Also performing fierce actions, Is like waiting for rain in a cloudless sky. Without possessing the degree of samadhi, And not remembering the guru's instructions, Even if one has studied extensively, It is like a blind person holding gold in their hand. Without knowing even a little aspect of gold, How does one realize the gold of gold? One cannot realize the experience of meaning, Therefore, the guru's instructions and, Obtaining samadhi are extremely important. Regarding the reality of imparting instructions, For those who have reached the inferior degree, One should contemplate the mandala of the sun, And strive to practice union, For channels, winds, drops, diseases, etc., The wise should give instructions. If there is not even the inferior degree, Then one should not give instructions, Like giving gold to a dog. The precious essence.

Not knowing. It will become a place of many slanders. Thus it was said. Also, from the Key of Unlocking Illusion, The thirteenth chapter, which explains the aspect of abiding measure. Again, the question: Kye Kye, Lord of Secrets! What are the branches of discordant faults? Please, Lord of Secrets, instruct. The Lord of Secrets spoke: Kye, Great Courage, listen! The branches of discordant faults are: Confusion and straying, agitation and dullness, Obstacles, magical displays of the path. Thus it was said. Again, the question: What are the distinctions of confusion? Please, Lord of Secrets, instruct. The Lord of Secrets spoke: Kye, Great Courage, listen! The distinctions of confusion are explained as: From the basis, time, cause, condition, essence, Example and division, mode of existence, duration, Perverted qualities, unperverted faults, And results, there are thirteen. Again, the question: Kye Kye, Lord of Secrets! The meaning of the various divisions of confusion, Is shown by five, two, and three, Please explain that meaning well. The Lord of Secrets spoke: Kye, Great Courage, listen! The basis is the Dharmakaya with defilements. The time is confused since beginningless time. IAST: avidyā, meaning: non-knowledge), showing the cause of confusion. Coemergent and imputed ignorance. The basis of conditions for inner and outer cognition, The three, object, time, and kalpa, are the cause and condition of ignorance and confusion. The essence of confusion itself is: Inwardly, self-grasping, subtle and arrogant, Outwardly, the apprehended and apprehender, thoughts increase, That is the essence of confusion. The two aspects of karma, good and bad, Post, uncertain, snake, mirage, water, Those are examples of ignorance and confusion. The divisions are two, good confusion and bad confusion. There are four modes of existence: Self and object, and both, Confusion exists on the condition. If one does not encounter a condition endowed with scripture, And higher seeing wisdom does not arise, There may also be confusion from which one never returns. Until one encounters the condition, there is confusion. The qualities of perverted confusion are: The result of Nirvana. The three realms of samsara are unperverted faults. Showing the result of confusion is: The six realms, the karmic cause in common. That is the dominion of the common Lesser Vehicle. In the Great Perfection Atiyoga, Confusion as a fault is great, Wisdom as a quantity is not great. Both confusion and non-confusion, Bodhicitta.
