Listened from the summit. Garab Dorje spoke from the summit of Mount Meru. Manjushri Mitra listened from the waist of Mount Meru. Manjushri Mitra spoke from the waist of Mount Meru. Kukkuripa listened from the depths of the ocean. It is not by hearing that one hears, But merely by understanding through blessing. It is called speaking through blessing. The way of speaking of the Sambhogakaya is: Speaking by one's own nature. Considering the hidden meaning, From the door of the Rupakaya, which possesses marks. Likewise, the supreme speech does not speak, But the body shows the measurement of all dharmas. The five bodies adorned with the great elements also, Do not speak in words and letters, But teach the Dharma by their own nature. Not grasping at self, not grasping at others, They teach the Dharma by the nature of self-appearance. The way of speaking of the Nirmanakaya is: From the door of the speech that tames, Considering the meaning of guiding, Speaking by combining words and letters. And how does one speak? With the mind like a great garuda soaring in the sky, Speaking by covering the general meaning. With the mind like a tigress leaping, Speaking by dividing the meaning into sections, O stainless one. With the mind like a tortoise crawling slowly, Speaking by chopping up the syllables of the letters. With the mind like the vast expanse of the sky, The nature of the Bodhicitta, Speaking as the nature of great pervasiveness. With the mind like the deep ocean, The nature of the Bodhicitta, Speaking as deep and difficult to fathom. With the mind like the roar of a lion, Speaking by subduing the Hinayana. With the mind like a string of pearls, Speaking by arranging the instructions closely. With the mind like climbing a cliff, Speaking by making the unsuitable suitable. The six combinations of supreme wisdom, also with the mind like a beehive, Speaking by searching for the object of meditation. With the mind like a king's treasury, Speaking by having all needs complete in oneself. With the mind like a swan waddling, Explaining the meaning of the preceding and following words. With the mind like a crow scrutinizing, Speaking by separating the false and the true. With the mind like a sharp razor, Speaking by distinguishing the superior and inferior vehicles. With the mind like an elephant entering water, Speaking by not accepting or rejecting actions. One should not speak too briefly, Nor should one speak too excessively. Thus it was said. Again, it was requested, If the way of speaking of the Teacher is like that, The listening
