The form body arises from power. Now listen, Vajrasattva. Their essence is one and one, but the words that express them are different. They gather in the self-illuminating state without an object. From the Tantra of the Great Perfection, the Wondrous Essence of Meaning, the Self-Arisen Bliss Wheel, the second chapter, which teaches the definitive meaning, the root of which is one, is complete. Then Vajrasattva, for the benefit of the assembled circle, asked this question, remembering it in his mind: What is the nature of non-appearance, the way it abides? How is there no change on the ground? How does it exist in all sentient beings? Please, Kunrig Gyalpo, explain. Having heard the meaning of this question, he spoke to the assembled circle: The nature of non-appearance, the way it abides, is before the three times, even earlier than the past. Before the absence of cause and condition, the fruit is self-arisen, the essence arises. Before the great elements, because I and space are simultaneous, all Buddhas are myself. Before the absence of doctrine, even earlier than the Buddha is one's own mind. Before the absence of vehicle, one's own mind arises as the Dharma of view. Before the absence of birth and death, even earlier than Nirvana is one's own mind. Before the absence of Dharma-nature, even earlier than emptiness is one's own mind. Before the absence of Sugata, even earlier than sentient beings is the Dharmakaya. Before the absence of expressive words, even earlier than terminology is this meaning. I am the causeless fruit, the self-arisen causeless essence. Therefore, it does not arise, nor does it obstruct the meaning. There is no birth or death, Vajradhara. I am the nature of space, without the imputation of habitual tendencies, earth, water, or fire. In the essence of formless wisdom, without wind, how can fire arise? Therefore, the body of essence. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. In the self-arisen essence, there is the truth of causeless non-arising. In the awareness free from imputation and diminution, it abides constantly without increase or decrease. In the essence of true enlightenment, there is no obstruction and no abandonment. That which is grasped by the two, samsara and nirvana, is terminology, but not the real meaning. The characteristics of the Dharmakaya are completely pure. The Dharma without self has no birth or death. In the essence, there is no need to meditate. Like the characteristics of a lamp. It transcends the extremes of existence and non-existence. Therefore, because the meaning is self-luminous by nature, it is like space because it is pure from the beginning.

From the Dzogchen Wonderful Essence of Meaning, the Self-Arisen Wheel of Bliss Tantra: Chapter Three, Showing the Reality of Meaning Without Appearance. Again, Vajrasattva, listen! In the self-knowing root, the Dharmakaya, qualities are completely perfected without remainder. The self-arisen Buddha, the wisdom body, the unborn, completely accomplished deity, is the source of all dharmas. Its essence is without object, beyond expression. Because the true view is utterly perfected, the paramitas are naturally present. In the Buddhahood of all Buddhas, it turns the helm of all beings. In the fruit of no arising, spontaneous miracles occur. All are my self-arisen powers. Again, Vajrasattva, listen! The basis for viewing the unchanging in meaning, the self-arisen body that does not depend on objects, is primordially equal to the limit of space. From the basis, the unchanging bodhichitta, in the memory unstained by faults, is the body that expands without change or movement. It does not arise or cease, the expanse of self-knowing. Because it is unchanging, it is not found by meditation. The present moment is my heart without result. Even if wandering for eons, there is no birth or death. Realizing that is the basis of all awareness. Unmeditated, wisdom is utterly perfected. Because there is no hope, there is no prophecy. The primordially unchanging wisdom body. From the Dzogchen Wonderful Essence of Meaning, the Self-Arisen Wheel of Bliss Tantra: Chapter Four, The Chapter on the Unchanging from the Basis. Again, Vajrasattva, listen! The self-arisen essence body, within the bodies of all sentient beings, that self-knowing king, that wisdom, naturally abides in one's own mind. Again, listen to the essence of the gathering. The truly definite Dharmakaya is not established as an entity, beyond objects. That very continuity of awareness abides in the minds of all six kinds of beings. Unborn wisdom is self-arisen, naturally clear without deliberate action. That very self-knowing alone is like space, because it cannot be fabricated. In the four parts of the basis of all sentient beings, whether the self-arisen Dharmakaya exists or not, there is no prophecy; self-knowing is obscured by conditions. Therefore, realize the primordially existent nature. Again, Vajrasattva, listen! In the sensations of sentient beings' bodies, self-knowing wisdom is constantly unceasing. Because there is no gathering or scattering, it naturally abides. Therefore, within the husk of afflictions, the wisdom of Kuntuzangpo abides in the mind. Having realized the meaning of the definitive prophecy.
