In emptiness itself, there is no beginning or middle. Now listen to the essence of the gathering. In the great spontaneously accomplished wisdom, there is no fault of sinking or excitement, attachment or grasping. In the great clear, blissful emptiness, there is nothing to be placed in its natural state. Because there is no meditative equipoise, there is no subsequent attainment. From the great spontaneously arising everything, there is not even a particle that moves elsewhere. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. Through such realization, the yogi, I, do not practice the five paths without a path. Do not traverse the ten grounds without a ground. Do not hold onto an object without a support. Do not accumulate the two accumulations without obscurations. There is no need to accomplish this definitive meaning. The Great Perfection, the collection of all definitive meanings, from the tantra of wisdom equal to space, the one hundred and fifth chapter, which teaches that non-meditation is inseparable from meaning, is complete. Then, to the assembled gatherings, the all-knowing Samantabhadra, with unchanging reality, gave the command. The outer and inner dharmas pervaded by the Dharmakaya, the nature of all without beginning or middle, the single spontaneously arising bindu, which is the basis and support of the place, this is the sacred mandala of the heart of all the Sugatas. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. In the unchanging, spontaneously arising essence, the base does not change by being fabricated by the mind. Therefore, it cannot be fabricated by conditions. The spontaneously arising essence of the nature itself, as the root base of all dharmas, is spoken of by all the Buddhas of the three times. Therefore, there is no change in the base. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. Because of the spontaneously accomplished nature, the sole Buddha is the Dharmakaya. This is the base of both samsara and nirvana. Because of non-realization, it is said to be samsara. When realized, it is called nirvana. On the base, there are no Buddhas or sentient beings. Therefore, in the state of non-duality and oneness, all abide in its essence. Now listen again to the essence of the gathering. Because of the two, samsara and nirvana, the base has before and after. If not fabricated by the mind, there is neither samsara nor nirvana. If habitual patterns are not strengthened, there is no samsara. Since there is nothing at all, it is the base of everything. Because of the self-arising realization, the Bhagavan, without traversing the grounds, is spontaneously perfected. Not relying on the path, it is separate from the ground and the path. It is not non-existent, but is wisdom itself. The Great Perfection, equality, pervades everything. It is the great dharma of all dharmas. All essences are spontaneously accomplished. From that, all dharmas arise. The non-conceptualization of delusion is in accordance with the base. Therefore, possessing the scriptures

Also, due to conditions, in the intention of mind and reality being one, the basis of consciousness is called realization. Now again, listen to the essence of the gathering. Because of highly praising the King of Dharma, all phenomena that arise in samsara and nirvana arise naturally without searching. Therefore, it is said to be the basis of all, as spoken by Samantabhadra himself. The Great Perfection, the gathering of all definitive meanings, from the Tantra of Equality with the Wisdom Sky, the chapter on teaching the unchanging nature of reality, the one hundred and sixth. The twenty-third chapter, which is a summary of the teachings. Then Vajrasattva, in order to realize manifest wisdom, to the King of Dharma, the All-Knowing, with a truthful mind, made this request: Are the three bases, the root of all dharmas, connected or not? From the darkness of the Alaya mind, how is the nature of the Dharmakaya grasped? Without separating from the present form, what obscures the non-arising of the Rupakaya? Please, King of Equality, explain. Having heard the meaning of this request, to the assembled retinue, he gave this command: Briefly summarizing the essence, with certainty about the unerring three bases, I will explain the uncertainty of connection. Listen well and hold it in your mind. Realize those six as one, whether they exist or not. Samsara and nirvana, the two bases, are the Svabhavikakaya. The consciousness of samsara is unpredetermined. Temporarily unconnected, ultimately unconnected. Temporarily connected is that the three unpredetermined are pervaded by the Svabhavikakaya, therefore it is called the Tathagatagarbha. Now again, listen to the essence of the gathering. Ultimately unconnected is that in the knowing, the undetermined, because there is mental obscuration, faith and reverence arise. Possessing blessings, realization, and scripture, because there is no way to teach, it is the cause of samsara. That which generates is solely samsara. Therefore, ultimately unconnected. Darkness and sunlight are not the same time. Ignorance and wisdom are the same. Now again, listen to the essence of the gathering. Ultimately connected is that in one birth, death, and bardo, there may be an encounter with scripture-possessing instructions. When realization occurs through faith and devotion, in order to know the self-aware Dharmakaya, the undetermined is lost and empty. Ultimately connected is like the rising sun at dawn. Now again, listen to the essence of the gathering. The basis of nirvana, Samantabhadra, and the basis of samsara, the undetermined.
