Without cause, cause and effect are one. Now again, listen, Vajrasattva. Those of other vehicles, all dharmas, cause and effect, Not at once, seek them gradually. Because of diligent action, the cause of samsara. Temporarily attaining happiness, without ultimate end. Cause and effect arising sequentially, spoken of as a wrong path. For example, things that are made, Impermanent, quickly destroyed, like that. All dharmas made by cause and condition are wrong. Fruit does not arise, like a water tree. Now again, listen to the essence of the wheel. The root meaning of that, in brief, Like the ornament of Takshaka, Cause and effect, in the end, complete from the base. Likewise, in the essence of all dharmas, Great qualities naturally arise. Because cause and effect are one, spontaneously accomplished. Great Perfection, gathering all definitive meanings. From the Tantra Equal to the Wisdom Sky, The forty-third chapter, showing the distinction of the meaning of cause and effect, is complete. Then, to the assembled gatherings, The King of Mind, All-Knowing, Distinguishing the occasions of what can and cannot be meditated upon, Intentionally contemplating, he spoke. If the definitive meaning, without error, is encountered, Without meditation, Buddhahood will occur in this very life. The self-arisen Dharmakaya, eternally abiding, The heart essence of enlightenment is without meditation. Now again, listen to the essence of the gathering. Therefore, the nature of reality is primordially pure. The meaning of my, Kuntuzangpo's, intention, The five kinds of unerring instructions, The meaning of the effortless essence of one's own mind, Is said to be realized by those with fortune. Now again, listen, Vajrasattva. How is the Buddha's intention? The means by which sentient beings' minds realize it? Without comparison, without creation, Even by merely showing the instructions, Without meditation, even now, Because the definitive meaning is realized, the meaning of no meditation. Without meditation, the inseparable Buddha's mind, Those equal to the mind of Kuntuzangpo, The instructions that are inseparable and overcome conditions, Without needing to meditate, with the instructions, May faithful future generations realize it. Now again, listen, Vajrasattva. The definitive meaning instructions, to the unfortunate, Those whose minds are not settled in peace, The path of abiding that can be meditated upon, Show it to the retinue, listen with your mind. Who is afraid of the unmeditated? Subdue the three characteristics and powers in order. The definitive meaning, Experiencing and, Becoming endowed with faith and confidence. Therefore, one's own mind is the intention, The wisdom abiding there is extremely vast, Experience arises gradually from outside, That

Do not give rise to greed and aversion, and listen, Vajrasattva. From the meanings expressed by various terms, return to the state of inexpressibility and abide there. Do not follow the seals, because the Dharma that can be practiced has been taught. Therefore, do not practice with distraction. Oneself and the other retinues should understand and abide in terms of meaning. The vidyadhara bodhisattvas also attain stability through familiarizing themselves with samadhi. The faithful listeners who abide in the retinue also become accustomed to the view of faith and understanding. Yogis with inferior wisdom desire a place and unmoving spontaneous accomplishment. Therefore, it is difficult to realize one's own mind. In the "Great Perfection, the Quintessence of All Definitive Meanings, the Tantra Equal to the Wisdom Sky," the forty-fourth chapter explains the distinction between what can and cannot be practiced. Then, to the assembled retinues, the King of All-Knowing Mind, spoke to the assembled retinues: The Dharmakaya, which has always existed, from the difference between realization and non-realization, listen well and keep it in mind. Sentient beings who have not realized their own minds, from where to where in samsara do they wander? Because they are confused and do not know the method of returning, they cling to the false distinctions of existence and non-existence, grasping and being grasped, as if they were real. The Dharma is measured by the retinue's response. That is also listening to the essence of the gathering. Because of what is not realized or understood, what wrong view is the path of error? Due to ignorance, one is confused about the meaning of non-duality. Therefore, if non-duality is not realized, suffering is endured through the efforts of body and speech. Therefore, without the definitive meaning of the scriptures, liberation is impossible through the wisdom of the nine vehicles. Now listen again, Vajrasattva, to the Dharma nature that has always existed. If you encounter the definitive meaning with scriptural authority, at the time of realization, in this very life, realize the essence of your own mind. Kunsang, I have a beginning and an end. In order to worship for a moment, I manifest enlightenment. All the Buddhas of the past also have a beginning and an end because I exist. I do not take rebirth, and the last one appears. The bodhisattvas who have not yet come do not cut off the beginning and the end, and there is no effort. Therefore, it is difficult to realize one's own mind, not to mention all sentient beings. Now listen again to the essence of the gathering. Therefore, those who have the scriptural authority of the gathering, through knowing the method of reversing confusion, with the instructions of the definitive words, through teaching and realizing the meaning, in an instant, are of the same mind as all the Buddhas. Because the beginning and the end are determined, they are omniscient. Now again, the definitive
