From the warmth arising from an egg and a being born from moisture, a certain activity called naturally arising wisdom arises, and from this, the Saha world is formed. This is called the ignorance of the deluded object. The fundamental ignorance of the basis of delusion arises from one's own impurity, and is first called the causal condition. Ignorance actually arises, and because the basis is not known, it is ignorance. From this, the objective condition is called the ignorance of the deluded object. From this, the lordly condition is called, attachment to self arises towards wood. From this, the immediately preceding condition is called, knowledge becomes coarse and grasps at grasping. From this, afflictions become coarse. This is called the ignorance of the basis of delusion. The ignorance of grasping at concepts is, from this, countless aggregates of afflictions arise. That is, like this, six grasping minds arise. The mind that is similar to ignorance, the mind of the various consciousnesses of the mind, the mind that seeks everywhere, the mind that determines, the mind that is variously coarse, and the mind that definitely establishes. Among these, it is also like this, the mind that is similar to and possesses ignorance is, like this, the root is actual ignorance, and it possesses the movement of the mind. That is the mind that is similar to and possesses ignorance. The various consciousnesses of the mind are, because the knowledge that thinks of the object as mine grasps at me and mine, and because it has become subject to afflictions, it is called the various consciousnesses of the mind. The mind that determines is, because it grasps with the knowledge that thinks of the object as mine, attachment arises to it and it is called determination. The mind that seeks everywhere is, having become subject to the object, it gathers all subtle afflictions together. Therefore, it is called the mind that seeks everywhere. The mind that is variously coarse is, with coarse afflictions, it takes life and performs many actions that violate vows. The mind that definitely establishes is, the appearance of those that think of themselves as me and those that think of others as theirs, that is the mind that definitely establishes. That is called the ignorance of grasping at concepts. The ignorance of the path that is cultivated is, the six minds gather and obscure the path of wisdom, that is, the mind does not see wisdom and does not make it clear. Wisdom has no concepts, the mind...

Because there is something that obscures, the path to Buddhahood is obscured. This is called the ignorance of the false path. The ignorance of unknowing bewilderment is that, because one does not recognize that one's own appearance is light, one repeatedly revolves in samsara. This is called the ignorance of unknowing bewilderment. Similarly, if six kinds of ignorance arise, it is not recognizing the appearance of wisdom. How is this so? In the appearance of original purity, there is no ignorance, no mind, and no intellect. In the spontaneously accomplished power, ignorance arises. From the play of ignorance, mind arises. From the adornment of mind, intellect arises. From the realm of intellect, the five poisons arise. From the five poisons, sixteen afflictions arise. From the sixteen, twenty-five arise. From that, fifty-one arise. From that, eighty thousand arise. What are the sixteen? Ignorance, mind, intellect, grasping, discrimination, unknowing, unseeing, uncomprehending, ununderstanding, one's own immediacy, clinging to self, being miserly to others, desire, attachment, arrogance, and anger, these sixteen. Above all these, there are delusion, desire, hatred, pride, and jealousy. How is this so? There are five kinds of delusion: extremely obscured delusion, unknowing delusion, unseeing delusion, very dull delusion, and extremely intoxicated delusion, these five. There are also five kinds of desire: desire that craves for desire, desire that intensely yearns, desire that disregards life, desire accompanied by hatred, and desire that enjoys in the sky, these five. There are also five kinds of hatred: hatred with strong desire, hatred accompanied by anger, very coarse hatred, hatred accompanied by delusion, and hatred like a seasonal thunderstorm, these five. There are also five kinds of pride: pride that overwhelms like a lion, pride that is supreme like the sky, pride that is heroic and powerful like a tiger, pride that is self-righteous like a vulture, and pride that presumes equality with those who are unequal like an elephant, these five. There are also five kinds of jealousy: subtle jealousy, arising from pride.
