The mind of the self-manifested victorious one, naturally abides in all sentient beings, but they are deluded by distorted views, Buddhahood is self-purified and self-enlightened. Thus it was said. The first chapter, the introduction. Then Vajrasattva asked Samantabhadra: How is the reality of things abiding? How do the six types of beings, not having realized, become deluded? How is delusion cut off from its root? How does one obtain the fruit after realization? What is the essence of secret mantra? How is the king of vehicles explained? And how is it explained to the most excellent ones? How is the means of realizing it shown? Please, Teacher, bestow your teachings on the assembly. Having asked this, the Teacher, Samantabhadra, remained in equipoise in the samadhi of non-action and freedom from elaboration, and then spoke these words: The reality of the nature of things, although it is not the realm of words, in order to appear to the minds of those who have not realized, by the clear lamp of speech, I will explain the heart essence of the most secret quintessence. In the primordial, beginningless bardo, the undivided, inseparable essence is equality itself. The nature of the ground is the state of equality of existence and non-existence. From the state of equality arises the great treasury of all things. In the pure, inconceivable celestial palace, the clear, empty, and pure jewel abides. The clear jewel is surrounded by its retinue. Holding the jewel that fulfills all needs and desires. The ground itself is the vajra, free from conditions. Because it is unborn, it is without destruction. That which is the primordial essence, enlightenment, is not moved from its sphere by the thought of effort. Because of the pervasiveness of the Dharmakaya, it is one. The nature of the ground abides equally. The sacred Dharmadhatu is inexhaustible. True selflessness is thusness. Truly, at the limit, there are no letters. Sixteen, halved and halved, with bindu. A body without a body, the best of bodies. The first Buddha, without cause. One wisdom eye, without stain. Possessing wisdom, knowing existence and non-existence. Possessing all aspects, yet without aspects. Invisible, non-abiding, not to be made manifest. Unchanging, all-going, all-pervading. Enjoying the limits of space. Not the basis for creating all. The basis of all is equality itself. Looking at it from a direction, there is no establishment. The first Buddha has no beginning or end. The wisdom-body, the Thus-Gone One. The sacred Dharmadhatu is unfathomable. Because there is no Buddha, there is also no name. Buddh...

The illusory teacher mistakenly named. That is the nature of complete purity. For example, it is the one who transcends all. The reality of things is like that. Thus it was said. The chapter on the reality of the nature of things, which is the second. Then, Vajrasattva. Asked the teacher Samantabhadra. How are sentient beings confused without realization? Thus he requested. Then the teacher Samantabhadra. Entered the Samadhi of radiating precious light, without increase or decrease. Having arisen from that, he spoke thus to the assembly. The way sentient beings are confused without realization is: Without beginning, without end, pure from the beginning. The lord of the sky shows various things. Self-arisen from the edge of the sky. Various forms are born from the mind. Various consciousnesses, having form and meaning. All forms are the glory of appearance. All forms are completely held. Various consciousnesses, possessing the meaning of continuity. Self-awareness, other-awareness, all of them. The maker of various forms. Because the afflictions disturb the mind. Not knowing, sinking into the swamp of samsara. Because of being trapped in the eggshell of ignorance. Movement, with wind as the cause. Obscured by veils, separated by darkness. The wheel of darkness becomes a condition. Not understanding the original meaning, not understanding the meaning. From the essence, nature, and compassion. Awareness is confused into mind by the transformation of thought. The three wheels of mind are entangled in a net. From the uncertain colors of the rainbow. The differences of lineage are clearly visible. Desire, hatred, ignorance. And pride, jealousy are confused as ways. Experiencing the endless suffering of beings. Like a mirage, like a hallucination, from that. It is shown by the metaphor of confusing water, a snake, and a person. Various bodies and places, etc. Holding onto self and other separately. Experiencing suffering like a dream. The arising and movement of phenomena are confused in that way. Thus it was said. In the "Sun and Moon Blazing Tantra", the chapter on confusion without realization, which is the third. Then, Vajrasattva. Again asked Samantabhadra. How is confusion cut off from the root? Thus he asked. Then the teacher Samantabhadra entered the Samadhi of dissolving various lights into himself. Having arisen from that, he spoke thus to the assembly. Born from the sky, self-arisen. Wisdom, the great fire of knowledge. The lamp of beings, the lamp of knowledge. The heap of glory, blazing with clear light. Wisdom
