Before that, name and word precede me. Existing and constant, without adding fiction. I believe that I am the unchanging essence, Without birth or death. Neither samsara nor nirvana touches, I precede them. Because touching duality is wrong, the very beginning is pure. The Dharmakaya unstained by faults, Samantabhadra Buddha suddenly attained enlightenment, The supremely great and sublime wisdom body. In order to realize the ultimate Buddha, Neither born nor ceasing, like the sky. There is no Buddha who does not realize me. Therefore, I am the father of all Buddhas, I am the teacher of all Buddhas. There is no sentient being who is not deluded about me, I am the parents of sentient beings. Due to the cause of delusion arising from me, Buddhas and sentient beings arise from me. The external elements are my power, Empty space is my metaphor. External and internal signs are the marks of my delusion, The root of samsara and nirvana is me. All Buddhas of the past, present, and future, Speak of me, but do not know how to express me. What need is there to mention the Dharma nature of their actions? Even wandering in kalpas, there is no birth. The deathless jewel, the basis of all things, The self-born essence, pervading all. Ultimately, there is not a bit of change, For the primordial unchanging Bodhi, No matter how it is spoken, it does not match. Therefore, it is not the object of mind. Actions and behaviors are the Dharma of samsara, Whoever clings to this as supreme, Is like clinging to the sky. The Buddhas do not perform any actions, I am the unborn and unmanifested. From the Great Perfection Precious One, the Tantra of Cutting the Root of Samsara, the Second Chapter, which shows the way of abiding in the nature of meaning. Now, listen again, great Bodhisattva, The delusion arising from me is: At the beginning of time, the two of the six limits, In the darkness of the alaya ignorance, One appears as two. The wheel of delusion, up and down, is the Dharma of samsara, Like a rope being mistaken for a snake, like a marmot. Delusion is transmitted from ignorance, Like a blind person accomplishing oneself, Wandering in the ignorant and mistaken samsara. Therefore, listen, great Bodhisattva, From the lower lineage, with complete causes and conditions, Measuring the four views with the mind. Everything below Yoga is talk about me, No matter how much you do, you cannot find me. The signs are coarse, and you cannot realize me. In the Tantras, transmissions, and Great Yoga, Deluded in searching for me, you cannot find me. Because you have not found me, you cling to appearances, The eight vehicles for taming beings, Because you do not know the base itself, you are deluded, The eight...

Two not liberated, extremely bound. Now listen again, Vajrasattva, The cause of samsara is conceptual thought. The appearance of grasping and fixation is as signs. Because of the increase of habitual tendencies, it is the alaya. Wisdom is the cause of nirvana, The non-conceptual ground is self-expanding, The result is spontaneous accomplishment of union, The basis that becomes the cause of both, Is the self-born dharmakaya. Those who do not realize this, the inferior ones, Thinking that appearance is the basis, Like seeing a mirage and wanting to drink water, Because samsara and nirvana are sudden causes, The essence, the reality, is the dharmakaya. From the Great Perfection Precious One, the Root Cutting Tantra of Samsara, the third chapter, which explains the manner of delusion. Alas! Warrior Vajra, listen. Those who wish to reverse the delusion of ignorance, Regard both samsara and nirvana as ignorance. The means to realize the essence of one's own mind, Without regard for body and life, with faith, With a mind without fear or panic, Without hesitation or doubt, The nature of the root of samsara and nirvana, With the diligence of great courage, Without turning back and with unwavering faith, Without distraction and without interruption. If the nature of mind is not realized, then do not seek meaning, Do not abandon the five poisons, regard them as dharmata. If this is known, then there is no need to practice, there is no necessity. Now listen again, assembled retinue, With the increase and decrease of samsara and nirvana, The undefiled dharmakaya, Is the basis of all dharmas, Therefore, that is the wisdom of the cause. With the condition of realization, it is the dharmakaya, It is the cause of omniscience, Therefore, all sentient beings who have not realized, Through the condition of the guru, wisdom arises. With the effort of the path of samsara and nirvana, It is an obstacle to unsurpassed enlightenment, Therefore, this wisdom without practice, Is said to be the supreme of paths. With the wisdom of realizing that, The acceptance and rejection of the eight vehicles are subdued. From the very nature of realizing the essence of mind, Without seeking powers, qualities are perfected. Such a result of wisdom, Not in the future, but in this very time, Like a poor person finding a jewel, Without seeking, awareness manifests as enlightenment. Now listen again, Vajrasattva, I will explain the great self-born wisdom, The difference between what is and is not, Listen with your mind and hold it well. This great self-born wisdom, Although it is said that all sentient beings possess it,
