The Guidance on Guru Yoga for Generating the Wisdom of the Paths and Bhumis in One's Own Continuum: Since purifying the realms is the domain of great mental strength, in the center of all that appears and pervades, the entire expanse of the Lotus Light Realm, complete with all its vast array, visualize yourself as someone who can be tamed. This is the auspicious connection for being taken care of and is the companion for generating the bliss-emptiness wisdom of the Great Orgyen. Its essence is the wisdom dakini Yeshe Tsogyal, while its form is the noble Vajra Yogini, red in color, with one face, two arms, and three eyes, gazing upwards with longing at the heart of the guru on your crown. In her right hand, she holds a skull drum that awakens beings from the sleep of ignorance and delusion, and she plays it in the expanse of space. In her left hand, she holds a curved knife that severs the three poisons from their root, leaning against her body. She is naked, adorned with bone ornaments, and has garlands of flowers. She is clear like a reflection in a mirror, appearing but without inherent existence. Above her crown, in the sky about the height of an arrow, visualize a lotus with a hundred thousand petals. Above that is a sun cushion, and above that is a moon cushion. On top of these three layers is the glorious root guru, whose essence is the embodiment of all the buddhas of the three times, the unparalleled treasure of compassion. In form, he is the Great Orgyen Vajradhara, with one face and two arms. His right hand holds a five-pronged golden vajra at his heart, and in his left hand, he holds a skull cup filled with nectar, a vase of long life filled with the nectar of immortal wisdom, adorned with a wish-fulfilling tree. In his left armpit, he holds a khatvanga with three points, representing the consort Lhacham Mandarava. This also represents the three aspects of essence, nature, and compassion. The three points at the top represent the three kayas. The three skulls, fresh, dry, and old, represent the nine vehicles in order. The horns are adorned with nine iron rings, symbolizing that he has practiced asceticism in the eight great charnel grounds and subdued the mamos and dakinis. He is adorned with hair from the dead and hair from the living. He wears a lotus hat on his head, and a zen robe, dharma robes, and a skirt on his body. His two feet are in the royal posture of play. Outside of that is a net of five lights, in the center of which is a pattern of many eyes, with the eight vidyadharas of India and the twenty

The fifty-three oath-bound ocean of beings. After clarifying that ordinary appearances naturally cease, recite "Hum, northwest of the land of Oddiyana," etc., inviting the Copper-Colored Glorious Mountain, together with the support and what it supports, and contemplate them dissolving into the assembly of deities generated. Then, transform your body into the number of dust motes in a field, prostrate, offer actual offerings, and unimaginable offerings created by the mind. Confess all the sins and obscurations accumulated since beginningless time, and at the same time, visualize all the sins, obscurations, and habitual tendencies of your body, speech, and mind as black bees gathered on your tongue, purified by the rays of light from the hearts of the assembly of deities in the gathering field. Rejoice in all the collections of merit encompassed by the two truths, conventional and ultimate. Urge the turning of the wheel of Dharma of the three vehicles. Pray that you will not pass into nirvana until samsara is empty. And dedicate all the roots of virtue accumulated in the three times as the cause of great enlightenment. After all of this is completed, at the time of requesting accomplishments, after each recitation of the hundred-syllable mantra, recite from the venerable Guru Rinpoche, etc., to "May the great venerable Padmasambhava know." At the time of requesting blessings, also after each recitation of the hundred-syllable mantra, recite from "I have no other place to rely on," etc., to "Purify the two obscurations, possessor of great power." After reciting, recite the hundred-syllable mantra again, and at the time of requesting accomplishments, from the Guru's brow, etc., after the four empowerments are perfectly received, immediately generate a strong feeling of devotion. The Guru also, with a compassionate and caring demeanor, smiles, moves his eyes, etc., and from his heart radiates a warm, hot, red light, which touches the heart of the Vajrayogini that I have visualized clearly. The red light melts into the size of a bean, making a snapping sound, and from above dissolves into the Guru's heart. Contemplate that the Guru also abides in the state of inconceivable, free from elaboration, dharmakaya, unborn. Dedicate the merit. Auspicious! Auspicious! A concise preliminary practice visualization sequence.
