I prostrate and pay homage to the Dharmadhatu, which constantly abides in all sentient beings. Furthermore, whatever becomes the cause of samsara, that itself, through purification, purity is nirvana, and the Dharmakaya is also that itself. The Kunjed says: I am the teacher, the all-creating Bodhicitta. Bodhicitta is the all-creating king. The Buddhas of the three times are made by Bodhicitta. The sentient beings of the three realms are made by Bodhicitta. And so on. It is widely taught that the views of Sutra and Tantra converge in one place. Now, if the Yogacara Chittamatrins consider the Alaya-vijnana to be truly established, and if they consider it to be the Tathagatagarbha, are these the same? Answer: They are not the same, but considering the truly established Tathagatagarbha to be a fault of the philosophical system. Although it does not have to be the same as that, the way of establishing the ground is the same up to Madhyamaka. Here, in the context of distinguishing its characteristics, the tantra systems of the Great Perfection of Naturalness say that it is the nature of the three: essence, nature, and compassion. As it says in the Thalgyur: The initial essence, nature, and compassion exist in three aspects. Similarly, the Uttaratantra also establishes it as three: essence is Suchness, nature is Dharmakaya, and compassion is realm and lineage. First, measured from the perspective of the emptiness of essence, it is free from all extremes of elaboration such as existence and non-existence, is and is not, and exists like the center of the sky. The commentary on the Uttaratantra says: Suchness, based on the characteristic of its own essence as unchanging, should be understood as being in harmony with the sky and Dharma. And as it says in the Ratnavali: If the essence does not abide at all, it is neither existent nor non-existent, nor both, neither empty nor not empty, neither causeless nor truly existent, neither true nor false, neither pure nor impure, neither to be taken nor to be abandoned, only that. And as it says in the Treasury of the Unborn Jewel: Emptiness has the essence of samsara and nirvana, the ground, path, and result are unborn, the root is unmindful, beyond mind, without mind and not born from mind, without action, cutting off the continuous bonds of hope and fear. And as it says in the Madhyamaka Transference of Existence: All nature is equal to space, without cause and without result.
